Oil burner question

OK, OK... it might sound a silly thing to do but has anyone put a modern diesel engine into an E30? It's just a thought what with the power and mileage you get from newer diesels... I'd really like to know cos I'm looking at buying a diesel for the economy, but I REALLY, REALLY love E30's and can't ...

It all depends on the type of ride / profile you're after... as well as how deep the wheels are. Typically... 55 - 60 series tyres don't give that really aggressive look, but they handle well and ride fairly comfortably (absorb bumps better). 40 - 50 series handle even better, but trade off comfort....

Double check the connection to the ECU... make sure it's nice and tight. Had a similar prob in a Turbo charged Monster... lost all power and cut out on corners. Turned out to be the ECU connector had come loose.

Sounds like dirt in your fuel line somewhere.... check the fuel filter to see if it's dirty/ blocked. That's usually where the problem manifests itself.
If that's what's wrong, chuck some fuel detergent additive in a full tank, change the filter and go for a run!! :D

At the risk of sounding like someone's mother.... you should ALWAYS use spring clamps if you're doing any work on the suspension units themselves. if yer just gonna take 'em off and leave the entire setup intact (springs and struts) then you don't need clamps. but if yer plannin on removing the spri...

If they're long and you use short springs, they'll bottom out and damage the struts. You should be able to use standard height struts with 40mm Drop springs ( ...
