Is there any rust on the car, like the sills where they join the fron wings or up under the rear wheel arches?
Has it had any paintwork?
Any chance of the full reg to do a hpi check?

If there was a problem with the cyl. head would the compression still be o.k.? is it possible that a fault which developed in the head could let water into the combustion chamber but not alter the compression ratio by much (....11.5 bar?) Thanks alot Demlotcrew, does this mean my valve is knackered? is it repairable or do i need to get a new one? maybe secondhand from a zoner?? euro list a kit at less than £1 would that be the gasket for this part or should i get a new valve? at either £59.00 or £99.00 depending on the type fit...

If you have replaced the bulb you might have a dodgy contact, this has happened with me before I would take out the bulb and check that the contacts on the bulb are touching the right place in the bulb holder. .......im no expert (at all) just my 2 penneth edit: maybe check the wiring on the holder ...

I know the centre bore is about 56mm and the E30 centre bre is around 75mm but does anyone know if a) the centres can be bored out to fit and b) the offset is reasonably sorrect, will they then fit,

is there any damage to the high current earth straps or starter feed (fat one)? erm.... dunno, there is no damage to the cables that run from the battery are they the ones? can you please tell me which wires are the high current earth straps? thanks for the fast reply!! :)
