They do take different pads but apart from that I expect it doesn't matter.

I think you will find a lot of secondhand calipers that people on this iste will be parting with as a lot of us are going for brake conversions and will be using 4 pot calipers

True, but it isn't easy squeezing an M5 lump in either, but that has been done, and thanks to Glenn so has the V8 and V12.
