I fiteed a Mk 1 Golf GTi servo to my E30 today. It does fit without modifying the spacer to the cylinder. But , I did find that when I swapped my end on to the shaft, it was to short! the GTi Servo seems to have a slightly shorter shaft! I got round this by using the E34 end as they are extra long a...

5 stud conversion Advise wanted!!!
As I am fairly new to E30's and am undertaking a massive engine conversion in the way of an M5 S38B36 lump. I need some advise, not with the engine but with the whole 5 stud conversion. Can someone list all the possible parts that fit an E30 please. The fronts I have been told are realy only M3 and ...

I have taken out all the engine and motronic unit, all the way up to the round multi-plug. My old E30 onl...

WMS initially made kits for Fords. They have branched out to offer there kits to other makes and the E30 is one of them. they do have a comparatively small surface area and I would not think that they alter pedal travel that much. Again Some wilwood kits are not much different from standard (displac...

True, but it isn't easy squeezing an M5 lump in either, but that has been done, and thanks to Glenn so has the V8 and V12. Nothing is impossible and as it was standard on some models it should be able to retro fit into any E30, in theory. If anyone has attempted it or knows any good links, some inof...

Hi, guys, Iam going to be doing this job in a couple of weeks and it does surprise me that they make things so difficult. but sometimes the best engineered cars (German) do have some bad points. ABS / brake upgrade
I have seen a lot of threads asking which brakes and pad combo works best, but there seems to be no definitve answer. Most of the guys who do a lot of track days are mainly interested in fade etc. Road cars do not go through the same rigours as a track car and as such do not need black / red or yelo...

Brakes which ones!!!!!!!!!
I am looking at replacing the brake set up on my 318i. the choice seems to be either- 325 (discs all round) M3 (for the 5 stud conversion) Aftermarket big disc and caliper conversion. I am sticking an M5 lump in mine so they have to be good. I want to pur-chase a 325 back end to replace my drums and...

Thanks for the replies so far and I can sense concern from some thinking I am bodging the big six into a rust bucket. Just to make it clear, I am a custom car nut who used to build them and modify them for a living! I love what you can do to a piece of metal and who quick you cna project it. There i...

NEW to E30 and stuffing an M5 in!!!
Hi Guys, looks like a great site with lots going on. I thought I might join you as since selling my M3 (E36) I miss having power and comfort. I had no money since the divore so ended up buying an old (1994) E34 520SE. which is nice and comfortable but gutless. Well I have just been given an old 318i...

Hi, looks like one of those projects where you needto double your budget and time. I have just bought an M5 lump and will start the same project next month. Can you send me your book??? LOL This thread has more chapters than most, but seriously if you have written an S38 into E30 biography I will bu...
