Hi Brian Got the job done relatively easily having tippex'ed the threads first and then used a 17mm spanner to "adjust" the track a couple of threads prior to popping the ball joint and unscrewing them. Passed the mot no probs and the tracking didn't need adjusting either and i'm £150 up over gara...

Re: Nearly 100% price difference!

For info: Bensen in St Ives ( http://www.benstenmotorsbmw.co.uk/ ) ..quoted me £142.33 for the belt change. They have good feedback on the Unix Nerd's review ( http://www.unixnerd.demon.co.uk/garages_seng.html ) so I think I'll give them a try. Cheers, Alex Benstens good mate - real pro's - my ca...

Hi Gotta replace my track rod ends for MOT tomorrow. Anyone have any pointers. Looks simple enough - jack car , lock steering , measure distance, mark with tippex, unscrew retaining bolt and so on. Done an astra years ago so still have my ball joint breaker. Will then get tracking checked but as wit...

Hi I heard mixed reviews on the autoglym stuff so bought some recolourer and waterproofer from www.renovointernational.com. So far weather has only allowed the reconditioner to go on but it looks good after it has dried and I have some left over. They do window polish to clear the dreaded rear windo...

Have you got any wear visible on the hood cover caused by the hood rubbing on it cos it's too low? All cab roofs (i have changed 2 now) are on spacers - metal plates about an inch square. Mine has five each side. The spacers are in side the bulkhead under the bottommost of the frame mount bolts. it ...
