No idea, it was an ebay 'fast road' offering. I don't know where the map originated, it's entirely possible that it was made by the seller?

My problem is now solved too! I put the standard chip back in and it's much better now. Infact, now it feels like the accelerator pedal has a light, middle and full throttle whereas with the chip it was near enough an off/on button. I think I prefer the car standard and unmolested. Its still a power...

it would understeer mostly unless you gave it lots of acceleration... to be honest, I would say its more predictable but it will definately cost you in tyres as every turn you make will wear one tyre down. The way friends of mine do this is by dropping a couple of bolts in between the teeth of the d...

its deffo #6 - presumably its the last cylinder, so a four pot will be lead #4. I'll let you know if adding this sensor to my car makes a difference as my car feels like its running slightly retarded timing without it (jerking a little on constant throttle in higher gears and a small drop in revs if...

I haven't got leads yet but I decided to see if perhaps the connector (under the TPS/inlet mani) was loose or dirty, but it didnt appear so - anyway I reconnected it and tested the brown temp plug as you said and it guaged up full temp. Plugged it back in expecting nothing (thinking I needed another...

My 325 is J reg, so I'm thinking perhaps I should just go buy leads and replace anyway? £70 quid though (eek) Will try your suggestions with brown sensor - it defo has just one pin but would it affect running (presuming that the blue ECU temp sensor is working correctly) None the less I don't like...

Just wanted to make sure it was set correctly really - presumably then if the ECU decides my timing does that mean I have a knock sensor? also, the inductive sensor that runs from the HT lead has broken through (so is not connected) - will this cause problems? the crank sensor is conncted up and wor...

lol I knew it as soon as I hit the submit button! :) I'm new to all this myself, but can you hear the pump prime when you turn the ignition on (but don't crank the starter)? Could be indicative..?

Hopefully you're next reply will be from someone who's not me and knows what they are talking about 8)

For anyone who searches and finds this thread: the coolant sensor came on because of an airlock freeing itslelf up and as pointed out, once the light is on - it stays on until the ign. is turned off. I fixed this by bleeding from the 'stat and then by diconnecting the top heater hose and allowing ai...

pretty sure they are correct, the sensors and plugs are the same colour and they are connected with the brown plug at the front of the engine and the blue one in the really awkward position right under the fuel rail/plastic loom runner. Is there any reason for a cut to be introduced at 4k rpms? soun...

It's an M20 2.5 12v Pretty sure the timing belt is right. We got it a tooth out in the first place and corrected it so I reckon its good. The only thing I'm unsure about is whther or not since the adustments I've made (cleaned out ICV, TPS and removed some vacuum leaks) have affected the timing or n...

Temp guage reads nill, rpms don't rise beyond 4.2k

Just replaced HG and timing belt. Since then the water temp doesn't show up as anything but cold (it does sit exactly a cold though, not below as it would if ignition were turned off). The car seems to run ok, but can surge on constant throttle (or if in a high gear at alow speed, it will kangaroo a...

cheers, i noticed the pipes running to the ICV were split and allowing unmetered air in so I fixed this with a fair old bit of epoxy resin. air lock sounds plausable (or even poorly sealed HG) so I'll try your suggestions Simon, I did look for bubbles in the tank and didnt see. coolant light off, then after all while it comes on?

Hi, I'm a little paranoid and confused. Does the coolant light have more than one sensor that can get it to turn on? (I have a 325 estate, J reg/m20 engine) I've just done a head gasket change and I'm quite worried Ive screwed it up (even though I thought it was fairly easy to do - my confidence may...
