Wish fitting the thing in the hole was as easy. After changing it to a rear sump setup I've boxed myself into a corner somewhat.

Yes.
The price is the issue. Might make it impractical for yous fullas, where there are v8 boxs available, but for the likes of Willnz and myself it gives us a chance.

It doesn't have a separate bell housing, but there are two different front halves available. A V8 pattern and a 6 pattern.

Thread dig! The ZF S5D 320Z was used behind the V8s. The E34 3ltrs I believe it was. It uses a different front half case. The part numbers on Realoem.

They are Nodular Iron, not steel. Not sure I'd want to spin one to 8k, but am happy to spin my 6.2kg to 7.HairyScreech wrote: I'm not 100% what the material is but assuming an average decent grade of steel then i can't see any fatigue issues using either wheel at 8000rpm.

Was a bit bummed with it. Anyway, was a nice day today, so thought I'd wash some of the pine pollen off that gathers this time of year. Cursed stuff. Re: M60 Conversion
I had intentions of trying to cut the bellhousing off an auto box and get it welded onto a e36 328i box, much like Andrew did with his turbo, but have not done anything more than get a M60 auto box, so not sure how practical it would be. Yeah, I guess it depends on the cost of the front casing vs t...

Re: M60 Conversion
After some quick realoem browsing, and after spending awhile trying to find the v8 5 speed under e34 (all e39s are listed 6speed?) the part numbers for the internals and the rear half of the casing appear to be the same. Sooo, theoretically, a flywheel/clutch and front casing is all we need for a v8...
