Just done this using link on changing bulbs to led's. ok - so dimmer switch changed and we have lights :) had to patch a later connector onto the wiring as my spare switches were all using a newer plug - but job done and we have light! just the on/off heater now :( already tried swapping the switch with another and same problem off on all settings exce...

the bulbs i checked looked ok... dimmer switch sounds like a good plan so ill swap that out. only lights in car working are window switchgear, glovebox and dash warnings at the moment - i beleive all these arent effected by dimmer so your suggestion sounds good

this is a new one on me. brakes work great when applied on my new 325cab - problem is when you lift of the brake pedal it stays down! it does slowly return but it needs a tap from underneath with the foot to get it up ;) the cars been sitting in a barn for a couple of years so i've lubed up the peda...

yep shiney new paint, but been sitting in a barn for 18months and interior is a proper state

it seems this is an 86 325 factory version so ive took it in as a bit of a gamble.

so, is the world of 325's the same as 320's in as much as pre 88 chrome bumper had jetronic?

oh yea, also check all the hoses onto the head are connected up, not split and tight as a m8 mentioned this may also cause no spark! some sort of sensor checking presure or summut! i'd just bolted on a new head so not an issue as all be connected up and checked as part of the bolt together process

unplugged everything, cleaned contacts, plugged it all back in - and started first time!!!!! so no fecking idea what caused it but happy shes alive again!

no m8, sadly i'm getting only one spark from the coil when turing the key and thats it so its something before the coil - it just cranks with no more sparks!

swapped a few more bits with a good car today - but still no joy!

what else can i change/try????

just done this for the first time last week - got some good advice from the chaps on here - so ill pass it on :D the vital bit of info missing out of haynes is finding tdc - what you need is a small screwdriver or drill bit - and you need to pop it in the small hole on the block just above the start...

good stuff ant :D try swopping the pulse sensor for another if you have a spare, they can fail for no reason just for the hell of it. little jobby looking at the crank? if so - yes, it looks a bit cacky! so i'll whip one of a spare engine - if i remeber its just one bolt and a connector yea?
