cheers for the comments guys, i found just lifting it by the front lifting hook so its hanging vertically and the just pushing the box to the rear on a trolley jack was the easiest way of getting it in.

no mate not that sensor, i think thats a valve to heat the throttle when its cold isnt it? was just going to remove this, the pipe i mean is about 30mm diameter. yeah the aircon bracket is still on, didnt fancy removing the front pulley so left it on as its not doing any harm i dont think, as you ca...

it was a mk1 golf gti servo mate, does the clio one feel alot better then?

can it be done?
ive got an e34 525i rear diff which is the perfect ratio for my m50 conversion, apparently the e34 diff wont fit the e30 but can the inards be transfered between the two?
just talking open diffs at the minute but would be nice to convert it to a slipper at the same time.

hi pikie nice to see you over here, i was in the same boat as you so bought a cheap 318 with a knackered engine and am fitting a 2.5 24v from an e34 5 series in it, similar in complexity to the mi16 conversion on the pugs (pretty easy basically)

should be getting an engine out of a friends e34 525i in a couple of weeks, most of the gearboxes mentioned on here seem to be e36 are the e34 ones the same?
also earlier in the thread there was a prop with e36 front shaft and e30 rear shaft and centre bearing will this fit the e34 box?

is this a worthwhile mod as the dual mass m50 flywheel is massive, if so what clutch should i use with this? m20 aswell?
