less power is better in the wet
going back to the comment bout m3's getting whipped by ren 19's in the wet, apparently so my coll teacher was saying tht they were shit in the dry but good in the wet cos the chassis flexed quite a bit, he used to work 4 the team btw

just going back to issue regarding weld in cages not being allowed in vln. the metal can be distorted by the heat v easily plus there are some peeps out there tht don't know wht they r doing when welding so the cage might not be attached properly.

saw an article ages ago in total bmw bout a profile a company near oxford think it was mark purcell. he was prepping a silver 320i for a customer with motorsport stripes don't know if thts the car you are on about kos?

might be worthwile having a full set up done. get a base set up then you could adjust at will to suit the track. also get the car corner weighted. demon tweeks are good for set up kit, can be a bit pricey but a worht while investment if it saves tyres in the long run.

can't beat a tuned 4 pot at high revs, sound a bit rough though at low revs, thts wear a m20 sounds lovely

well done mate, i did 2 weeks for my work experience in year 10 at porsche in reading, really enjoyed it. now i am just bout to start my 2nd year in college studying motorsport engineering and it really does help getting practical experience. nothing beats the real thing!

If i remember rightly there was a good article in total bmw about a 318is tht competes in the vln series. it had pretty much standard engine, uprated sus and a few other bits. ill c if i can fish out the mag and scan it in and send it u via email?

hey scott, if ur looking for shocks that you adjust between a track and road setting, have a look at spax's psx kit or koni yellows, they are easily adjustable and you don't have to take the wheels of, which with coilovers you do. and also they can be a bit hard for the road. as for buses go for pol...

nothin like a gd bit of DIY, wht job do u do, u look quite a handy fabricator, top work, can't wait to see the final product and also how you get on with the diy coilovers as would like to do tht sort of thing on a track car when me and my dad get one!

i don't think helemets have to be approved to use on day, well apart the british standard mark etc, but i believe it dosn't have to be a motorsport body approved 1, but if you going to do hill climbs i would invest in a snell approved ones, id agree with wht others are saying about stillo, heard gd ...

has it got all the sound deading and trim on the door? if so get shot of it, also if it has electric windows, that makes alot of difference to the weight compared to wind up windows, the door is going on a track car i guess. so you could fit lightweight plastic windows.

Goodspeed, do you do or can get hold of 325mm discs that will fit the e30 325i? as i have porsche callipers and need bigger discs.
