Re: Help: Valve Adjustment Gone Wrong

You may also have pitted eccentrics - worn from years of use, so they have a "cup" indent from the valve stem top, which you "bridge" with the feeler gauge, so the gap, although correct, isn't, it's wider. I set mine at the cam lobes, I used a 7 thou feeler which approxiamtes to a 9.8 thou gap at t...

What are you doing with the tensioner?

I would have thought that it would give enough 'slack' to account for this?

That's a shame, I've been looking into/researching this for a while too. I would love to have an oem fit if possible, I've had bad experiences with so called performance clutches in the past. The n54 self adjusting clutch looks like a win win if 'the special tool' is more common now. The info in my ...

Re: Which clutch & FW for >400lb/ft - turbo M52b28

Does a 530d clutch fit an m20 or m52 flywheel? With the e36 328i five speed gear box? Or is it that the e36 m3 pressure plate is the same as the 530d? I would prefer it if I could find an oem combo that will work and has a better chance of being more suited to daily driving. If ever there is an issu...

Thanks for the tip. That looks like a really good solution, sprung centre will make it more useful in daily duties too. Is this thing rated at 517 lb/ft of torque? I was looking at the twin disc set ups that are available from Poland on ebay. If this can do it with the M3 sachs pressure plate then I...

You have to work out what you want from the car as a whole first, then use that to make your choice as to how it will be powered. Using a turbo set up you will be able to make more power than any normally aspirated v8. Again, how much power do you want? How do you want it delivered? What do you plan...

Re: booster delete kit

To remove the servo assistance and still have reasonable effort for braking you will also need to change the master cylinder size which will 'increase the stroke of the pedal' (might have that backwards). There are plenty of online calculators to learn about this and work it out. A complication for ...

I think all manual e30's had a single mass flywheel.

Hopefully someone with a bit more experience will come along and confirm.

Have you checked the e30 wiki link at the top of the page?

Which clutch & FW for >400lb/ft - turbo M52b28

Hi, What clutch set up are people using for their turbo e30's? I'm in the last stages of gathering all the parts and the clutch is proving troublesome. I plan to daily drive the car and don't want something with an overly heavy pedal. The twin disc clutch from FTWL in Poland looks appealing. https:/...

Yes I believe that it is based on standard e30 trailing arms. I have a 325i which I am planning to go 5 stud on using these hubs with e46 328i rear discs.

I'm not sure about the z3 hubs on e30 trailing arms, I think it still keeps the greater offset???

Before you go down this route, have a search for z4 hubs, I believe they press into standard e30 trailing arms and are only 2.5mm wider than standard which means you don't have to search for crazy ofset wheels to suit.... If I find the link when I get home I'll post it here.

Quoted from HairyScreech "Are the E28 bearings the same width as the E36/46/34/32 etc bearings?
