still looking for the gremlin have changed just about everything serviceable including ecu afm icv plug leads for new set this is crazy
dont know where else or what else to do but i'm still welcoming recommendations

Yes they are Brian have replaced both still looking for the problem throw some suggestions to me guys I will check anything and everything this is driving me mental my only step next would be a m50 conversion but my thinking is if it runs great for 15min why not always this is what I'm trying to fin...

Ok scrap what I said "fixed" the running problems was not the thermostat at all it would seem the gremlins have returned if they ever went away at All at the moment I'm clutching at straws please any help or advice further to what has been said would be greatly appreciated cheers

FYI thanks guys for all the input just thought i would share this. After months of my free time poured into fault finding i discovered the fault of the bad running was caused by a 71c thermostat being fitted to the car which resulted in the car running too cool 1/4 on the temp gauge so the primitive...

Need help guys 86 325i convertible drives perfectly for 15 min then looses all power I have changed tps temp sensor two bel housing sensors ecu and air flow meter with proven working ones I've even put new fuel pump in and relay fuel and main and it's still looses power.is it time for a exorcism ?

fuel filter fuel pump all new circa 6mths old i have been reading up on tps's and ive got a feeling it might be at fault mine is round plug 6 pin one
ive noticed a steel retainer on the new ones advertised for sale the one on the car dosnt seem to have one.

ok have changed the injectors with good proven ones from a e36 325 and i have also changed the two crank angle sensors on the belhousing with new ones i thought i had a win with this as the car was "going like a rocket" until the same thing happened it bogged down and didn't correct itself until i t...

just had a masive leak out from the steering rack,drivers side,i can replace the rack but ive seen a fellow in the states selling 2 plugs that deletes the power steering,seems like a straight forward thing to do is this a cheeper and better option or is it better to replace the rack.

guys im pleased and relieved to say that after almost a month of fault chasing the fault was with the air flow meter got a replacement from my friendly bmw wrecker who after hearing my saga offered to loan me 2 to trial {thanks marcus} fitted it and the car is now running excelent whew what a relief...

ok im getting nowhere fast so ive decided to go back to basics 1st job air flow meter cause engine sounds like its choking i replaced it with the one of my 325 cab and there is no diference so then i decided to take them all off started the car and problem has gone engine reves freely right through ...

ok took the fuel rail out today and cleaned the injectors new o rings new fuel lines refit everthing reconected the battery after all the effort its still doing the same thing ive got to tell you all this one is really trying my patience any one out there with some more insight

brian i have checked for leaks with the carby cleaner wafted around all the inlet areas plugs are new as i just replaced them old ones were not sooty but were black and ive got to call a mechanic mate of mine in to do a compresion test and check the timeing as i dont have the corect equiptment to do...

ok update ive refited the tapet cover and new crakecase vent tube after all that ive done it still is doing exactly the same thing that is it starts fine and revs fine but cuts out when slow reved between 700 and 1000 rpm i disconected the oxygen sensor as per brians request still the same anyone ou...

no the breather pipe was ok if you looked at it but it is hard and brittle and did split when i took it off so im hopping that this is the problem ill have to wait untill i get the new one i will keep you all informed when i get it all together cheers

yes brian i thought that was the case with the bolts because all my other cars have had the torx head bolts spot of luck i thought that the broken bits didnt cause any damage as far as the breather im praying that this might be the cause of the problem wishfull thinking and im trying to kepp the gla...
