Re: A quick hello and some advice needed please
Yes should have said really, its a 885 head and a 525e bottom end. They're surplus to me now as my cab went to Africa a Couple of years ago for a damn fine price I might add. I'm sure its all usable stuff just not to me anymore. The problem for me is I just can't face dumping it knowing it could hav...

Hi guys, just thought I would pick your brains if you don't mind, especially as I haven't been on here for a few years so its a bit of a cheek really..... Anyway, I was having a sort out in my shed this morning and came across a head and block that I bought several years ago so that I could have a 2...

Just poped in.....
Hi all, Happy new year, I've been away from the zone and any E30 thoughts for a year now even though I still have my cabby. I've just visited EBay for E30 values and was shocked to see so few up for grabs. Is it a sign that they are getting ever rarer as they seem to be priced a bit dearer than I re...

Re: SORN...Beware insurance cover
This is bizarre. Surely a vehicle thats SORN'd and parked on the drive ( where the insurer knows its parked anyway ) represents less of a risk than one thats taxed and in daily use ? Mine is on SORN at present and locked in the garage ( where the insurers know it is parked overnight ) - I havent to...

Re: SORN...Beware insurance cover
Do these scummers even earn commision on cancellation fee's these days then? Can be my only assumption on this one, he must have been out to get something since you weren't renewing. Surely something like this would be listed in your policy T&Cs? I did say to him where does it say that in my policy...

SORN...Beware insurance cover
Phoned my insurance company this afternoon to tell them to let my E30 policy lapse in 3 weeks time. The nice chap asked me why, so I informed him I will be selling it due to lack of use. His next question was, 'is the vehicle sorned at the moment', to which I replied yes, since last month. The nice ...

Re: Insurance outrage
So its gone up to 1300 quid on the strentgh of an 'incident' 3 years ago, I dread to think how much it will go up in the future because of the recent damage, even though the no claims is protected it still seems to escalate!

Re: Central locking issues
That buzzing you hear.... if you let it continue it WILL fry all locking motors. Trust me on that one!
When you change the module make sure you fit it in the well correctly otherwise you will be back to square one, again, trust me!

Re: Central locking relay, which wires?
Brian the one I have just fitted is slightly different in that you cannot take it apart, unlike the old one where you can take the board out and inspect. Although its working fine does that seem right to you?

Re: Central locking relay, which wires?
New (second hand) module arrived today, everything fitted and working. I guess I must just be unlucky this being the second time now, first one was waterlogged but the second one must have just, well, packed up i guess.

Re: Central locking relay, which wires?
Thanks willnz, I had almost given up. so if I rig a bulb or something to the green/blue and try to unlock I should see the bulb briefly light up, if it does It will be the module at fault is that right?

Re: Central locking relay, which wires?
Thanks daimlerman, I've already worked my way through the wiki and done all the bits, I've narrowed it down to just the unlocking part not working so need to test for power to that side of it, just don't know which wires at the module.

Another C/locking puzzle.....
My central locking was working fine on Saturday, but when I went to unlock it from the remote last night it would only disarm the alarm but not unlock the car. I then unlocked the drivers door with the key, but that didn't operate the c/locking as it usually does. The boot unlocked with the key but ...

Re: Can u Keep a Cat C Car Parked
My daughters car was cat c parked outside her house, taxed and insured. She got a notice to say move it or it would be towed within 24 hours. While she was out it was towed, straight to the crusher.
She fought for justice but lost, the council said it was a hazard to pedestrians!

Re: I'm shocked
Just had mine done at furniture clinic. Two front seats completely re-trimmed in tan leather with some foam work, four headrests re trimmed the same, rear seats re-furbed, lots of repairs to door cards front and rear and other bits of trim, all re-dyed, couldn't be happier, £860.
