Re: Extra tall engine mounts
How about not lowering it so far, 70mm drop is massive.

Re: Extra tall engine mounts
Wooring is what you do when your car is in bits between rebuilds or upgrades. You miss driving your car, so you sit behind the steering wheel and make "wooring" noises.

Re:
Go the E36 route, the E30 is averaging 20 years old and most are struggling with rust. A decent E30 is now dearer than an E36. The E36 doesn't cost much more than an E30 to get to a decent track spec. Removing weight costs you nothing. Fibre glass panels, suspension, brakes etc are the same or simul...

One major problem is the diff mount failing. Check where the rear diff bush bolts to the body, then look very carefully at the top of this bracket where it meets the floor, often rips/splits.

Re: E46 m3 questions
The speed limiter can be removed with a remap. The SMG wont change gear mid corner unless you ask it to or it has an ABS fault. Common fault on the SMG is the main relay failing, carried in stock at most BMW dealers and specialists, buy one and stick it in the glove box!

Stuart, fuel consumption is no worse the when it had the 2.0 fitted - I haven't taken any figures. It stopped dead coming off the A19 at Thirsk on Sunday on the way to York and Alan Stevenson nearly went through the back of it. All a bit scary Was asking about it at the club last night, one theory ...

Re: E30 convirtable roof, are they all the same????
I think there are 3 types, manual, electro mechanical and electro hydraulic. Having said that I'd imagine that its only the frame that is different and the actual canvas part will all be the same.

Re: WHAT IS THE ZONE FOR ?

Having briefly read it, I only have a short lunch, I think that maybe in future if there is to be a group buy, then maybe the shop should be given the opportunity to better or match the intended discount. This way the members benefit and so does the sponsor, assuming of course the shop ...

Aluminium bushes cause a hard ride, not recommended for road use but fantastic for track use.
