I am the guilty party, 8) did it out of curiosity and because i'd seen it once in a csi and i thought it looked..well..very 80s. The paint job was lousy so i agree it does look erm not great the funny thing is i was contemplating painting the back plate (between the taillights) red as well! doh! :?

cold start surges

why? starts with the first turn and idles happily at 800revs but then when i press the gas pedal to get ready to go the revs jump and drop (surge up and down)

no problems at all when engine warm

mine does the same

same problem (or similar) with mine temperatury barely comes out of the blue region, it's a low mileage engine and i know it's a BMW but it is too good to be true surely if the heating works ok then it can't be the thermostat? i thought if the thermostat was bggered the heater motor would be blowing...
