The Wiki is bigger than one man, but we all speak with the same voice. As the Wiki grows, it's important for each page to read in the same way, not just in the formatting but the quality of the language as well. So for consistency's sake, the Style Guide outlines some of the common terms to use, as well as common mistakes to watch out for.

BMW

The mother company's name is always in capital letters.

E30

The E30 is always referred to with a Capital E.

Linking

The Overview section of any Technical page should aim to provide links to all the parts listed within the Components section of the same page.

Within each part of the Components section, there should be a link to any other part mentioned on the same page. Only the first mention needs to a link.

If you refer to a different element of the car within a document, such as mentioning the Brakes on the Steering page, then create a link to that element the first time you mention it. You don't need to link to it again within the article.

Punctuation

Learn the difference between a comma (,) and a full stop (.) If you don't put in full stops occasionally, the text becomes a rambling nonsense. Learn when to put a stop to your test, so that the reader can digest what you've just said and move on to the next jewel of information.
