When the E30 was first released in 1982, it was available in two simple body styles: a saloon of either 2-door or 4-door design. These two body styles are distinct from the Cabriolet and Touring.

2-Door
Has two doors. Very often referred to as a Coupe, even though it's not.
4-Door
Has two more. Very often referred to as a Donor (for parts, due to it's undesirability). Also affectionately known as a Moredoor.
Variants
Baur-Kohl Coupe
Autohaus Kohl in Aachen, in collaboration with Baur, produced four examples of a true Coupe, three of which are still in existence. The body shell is dominated by the enormous rear window.
