This model was produced for a short time of 6-10 months and most were either grey, silver or black. They differ from the M Technic 2 by looks and cabin accessories but in the main they are not so different. This M Technic 1 is in lachs silver and showing the standard kit front apron and side skirts and rear apron and colour-coded boot spoiler. The trim is grey houndstooth but did also come in leather. This is becoming harder to find now so if you have any hang on to it, most drivers seats have the usual bolster wear. Inside you have M Technic 1 steering wheel and sports seats, black headlining and all usual refinements are not standard as with any bmw you could ask for electric bits to be added - such as windows and sun-roof the one above does not have electric windows but does have electric sun-roof.

Tech 1 sport  sept 1986-- nov1987

This model was only available for 6-10 months and most were either grey or silver (edit if you know different), they differ from the tech 2 by looks and cabin accessories but in the main they are not so different. This tech 1 is in lachs silver and showing the standard kit front apron and side skirts and rear apron and colour-coded boot spoiler. The trim is grey houndstooth but did also come in leather. This is becoming harder to find now so if you have any hang on to it, most drivers seats have the usual bolster wear. Inside you have tech 1 steering wheel and sports seats, black headlining and all usual refinements are not standard as with any bmw you could ask for electric bits to be added - such as windows and sun-roof the one above does not have electric windows but does have electric sun-roof.

As for the model in general this is now possibly a very rear model even more so than the tuning houses of hartage etc as they produced cars through out the models life this was made then stopped to be superseded by the later tech 2, I recently looked at the parkers classic car buyers guide and this model was not present the tech 2 was but from 1988 on so this model will only rise in price.

The switches and plugs on the early cars do differ that from the face-lift cars as does the water pump, radiator , expansion system so expect some differences.

Also the rust can be a lot worse on early cars. And it's everywhere and does not only stay in one place, most common are front and rear jacking points rear wheel arches inside and also on the lip under the rear apron towing eye. Front floor pans both sides and also under the fuse box also in engine bay unerwings. So, take care to look when purchasing them as this could be a headache unless you are good at welding.

As for a price well this is a minefield as this is the most rare of the [[BMW]] produced [[E30]] and as such should be a premium but alas no the tech 2 is at the moment worth more, why I do not no if you go to any show you will see 2 or more tech 2 as they were produced in greater quantities. I would guess going from 1k to 5k if you have a concourse tech 1 say  3500 a good model with good service history 2100 this would have a little to no work needing and have a MOT and tax. 1500 with mot but no tax and needs work to get through mot and then more work to keep the up keep etc. 500-1500 depending on how much rust ( this is only my opinion and as such has no bearing on anyone else on the e30 zone)

If you have any more info on the tech 1 please edit the thred cheers

Tech 2 325i Sport, Brilliant Red

Overview

The 325i Sport is a 325i model customised with M-Tech options from BMW's Motorsport division. It was available in most markets including mainland Europe, Japan, South Africa and Australia.

In the German market it was called the "M Technik Sportpaket", the the Australian and South African market is was called the "325iS" and the Japanese market "325i M Technic".

There were some slight variations to the standard specification of the model for each market

With regards to the UK Sports, the packages are known as Sports Equipment, and come in two flavours. For pre-facelift models, cars are M Technic 1, and for facelift models the cars are M Techic 2. Aside from the standard M-Tech/Sport package, customers could choose further optional extras from the general catalogue that were available on all standard factory models.

Aside from the M-Technic features, 325i Sports are standard 325i cars, sharing the 2-door bodyshell, M20 engine and drivetrain component with all standard 325i cars. All parts used to create the Sport are optional on the rest of the E30 range apart from the Anthracite interior head lining; checking whether one of those is fitted can be the best way to spot a genuine car.
