This is a repost from General....

Ok in cold mornings the car doesnt idle high as it should, it idles low and rough, i have a few spare ICV but does the same thing, when its warm now it idles and drives fine.

I have 4 ecu`s and 3 ICV`s, ive checked them all but does the same thing, also are there any sensors that may need to be changed?

any help guys i would be happy to give a try!!

Hi PISTONS

Which engine is this?

Has it been serviced recently?

Has it had an MOT - reason for asking is - what was the CO reading? Should be around 1%.

The blue temperature sensor at the thermostat housing might be worth changing.

Pop the fuel injector rail off by carefully levering it upwards carefully with a flat lever to access the blue temp sensor.

Unbolt the old blue sensor and bolt in a new one.

Bleed the cooling system.
(There may be a better explanation of how to do this somewhere on here.)

alot of people are starting to bring this problem up. im starting to think it might be 17 year old injector related.

I have repleced with new changed tested and inspected pretty much every part of my engine. it has also seen a rebuild with all new seals gaskets etc. all fitted properly and even i have this problem. my injectors are one of the few parts that havent been replaced.

I will replace those little gits soon though so i will keep you posted.

Try changing the earth strap on your sump mate, can work wonders

About a year ago i took my injectors to bosch for a full clean and seal/filter replacement and they even gave me a chart of before and after injector percentage clean some were spraying unevenly and some wer very bad but saying that i hardly ever used the car as its been in a garage since as its an E21 with motronic fueling setup so everything has to be an E30 related issue e.t.c. ive gone and purchase the Blue temp sensor fro bmw for like £18 so now its a matter of me getting to fit it possibly weekend and see what happens, ill keep it posted so others who may experiance this who are shy to tell :D can solve their problems :D :D :D

PISTONS - How much did it cost to get the injectors cleaned and re-sealed? Was wondering whether this may be an issue for me.
