hi guys have a 91 e30 sport, bottom end went and i rebuilt engine bearings mains valves etc, all new gaskets put in too. the car isnt heating while driving usually sits at 1/4 when ticking over half, when car is ticking over at half on tem gauge if i turn her off she pumps water out the overflow pipe like mad, any help would be very much appreciated, cheers

Is the system bled properly? doesn't sound like its overheating tho. Mine and many other sit at quarter way when driving.

sounds like you may have an air lock somwhere.

Did you bleed the system with heater on full hot??

Sounds like an airlock. Bleed the system as per above. A few 4 - 5k revs with the heater wide open and engine warm should shift the air out. As soon as you see water storming out of the bleed screw on the thermostat housing, she should be fine.

Check that the small hose from the top of the radiator to the neck of the coolant bottle isn't blocked.
