A good start to the newyear, going to sheffield yesterday i decided to take the 325 instead as was told some nice roads there 8) after coming back my temp gauge went into red, pulled over and no water atall but dam check light did not come on, filled it up and after 40mins it made its way into red again and same thing no water, just this second checked it over and no leaks but signs of water in oil, theres also no pressure in water pipes, is this poss a gasket? its just strange how it suddenly lost all its water so fast

More strange is that the guage went to red with no water in the system. Did the guage reach red then suddenly drop to normal / below normal reading ?

Usually when all the water leaves the system the guage drops as there is no boiling liquid circulating past the sensor.
These are sensations as hard to forget as they are to ignore.....

Fill the system and bleed it and see what happens if there was that much water going into the chambers it would be making the engine run like a dog. Or if it is going into the oil your oil level will have rose by a good ammount if it is going in to the oil your head could be cracked.
