best way is to undo the engine mounts. get your engine crane out or use your support beam thing to lift/hold the engine up as far as it will lift up off the mounts. best way of getting the room needed.

it can be, i found it easyest to remove the steering rack to give extra clearance, and get the car as high as possible!

i done this last week for the 2nd time, 1st time i had an engine crane which was far easier, just undone the engine mounts and lifted the engine as high as possible. or if you dont have a crane, you want to jack the car up then you will need to suppourt your engine, i used a pile of bricks under the sump, i tinhk undone the mounts, removed the 4 bolts for the subframe, and the 2 bolts on either front arm where they bolt by the chassis rail, i then pulled the subframe down and pushed it towards the back off the car. i could then get supourts under the engine mounts to hold the engine whilst i removed the bricks from under the sump and removed the sump.

thats the only way to do it i can see with out a crane, its a pain in the arse and i wanted to cry but its not that bad of a job just takes so long,
