check control pannel wireing?

hi
could someone please tell me if e30's without the check control pannel still have the wiring that runs up the roof piler. as on removing mine today it seems to join the main loom. so i need to know if i need to go routing through the loom to pull it all out?

Completely different main body loom. Don't even think of attempting a retrofit without changing the whole loom!
