evenin all, just been poking around the car and noticed alot of water on the left hand side of my boot in one of the wells, its 4-5 inches high. And most worrngly of all looks like its bee there a while. Anybody come across this? I ve checked all the drain channels and the werid thing is, is that the carpet in the boot is bone dry, any help is appreicated as usual

new boot seal and/or light gaskets should do the trick

try adjusting the boot so it creates a better seal

it's 98% light seal/rubber,had same prob 8) ...new ones off main dealer/price.not sure, i got some after market's with rubbers off e bay,take out side carpet, see pond & find big sponge,squeeze sponge and repeat till dry,replace pair of seals, ....aftwer check with a bucket of water till done 8)

or drill a hole through it and let it drain out

Had same prob with my 320.

Lip around boot where the seal sits had some small holes so sorted those and adjusted the boot for a better seal.

Replaced light seals, cost about a tenner from BMW.

Used some instant gasket around the ariel seal as it had come adrift a bit.

Problem sorted for a while but then came back. Didn't have a clue what to do next so drilled a small drain hole and made sure it was properly sealed around the bare metal.

Problem solved, but was a last resort.
