they are quite metallic sounding, has the exhaust manifold been modded at all ?? it could have cracked @ a welded joint
I assume you're using super dooper unleaded(98+ RON) ???? if not then thats the issue
If in doubt, get a full diagnostic done, inc a live data check to see if its indeed knock.
Either way, check it all out BEFORE abusing the loud pedal too much- just in case.....
to clarify, S50B30 or B32 Evo mill ?

Try it on 98 ron, costs a bit more but less than a melted piston

i will try some 98 ron in it, i just thought the knock censors would stop it from pinging, how much are your charger kits for the s50 Ant

I've experienced pinking on all the S50B30 & 32 cars that I have owned. Even my S54 engined M3 did it occasionally. I asked at my dealer desk a few times and they said simply that they can be prone to it and was I using cheap low RON fuel. I've had this discussion with other S50'd owners and they have mixed reports about pinking from time to time.
I found that funky petrol made no difference to any of my cars but I've never been truly scientific about it. I'm sure that it probably does make a slight performance increase when measured accurately but it never seemed to help with the pinking at all.

Just to add, it's always happened with me below 3000rpm when under load in a low gear. Especially when at moderate throttle using the low torque band.

Bosch Y5 DDC are what the dealers recommend. I have had them in both 3.0ltrs and they are fine.
Ant may recommend different plugs, moreso if it's going to be supercharged

Correct for a 3.2 Evo engine (S50B32), but wrong for a 3.0L.

I'm running, sorry, was running Y5 DDC plugs in the S50B32 now owned by BSS325i. They are the plugs recommend and sold by the dealer for that engine.
