£218 fully comp with 4yrs NCB (I have 10yrs NCB but they are on my family car) on my IS,with more than! I'm 27 and in the motor trade which always bumps the premiums up a bit.
My Passat sport 20vt is £330 with me and the mrs(newish driver) fully comp, again with more than. Bargains!
I remember the good old days of paying £1500 tpft

I'm 25 3yrs ncb and pay £600 per year, valued the car @ £3,500 with all modds declared!!
My mate has got a classic mini and instead of having a 1litre automatic, he stuck a 1litre manual in- still from a classic mini and he cant get insurance on it because its got a "non standard engine". despite still being from a mini, and hes 21!

Tell your mate to call a company called Graham Sykes Insurance, I had a 1982 mini a few years ago which started life as a 1ltr but then got converted to a 1.3. I found it hard to get insurance on this, especialially without an engineers report. Called Graham Skyes and they insured it striaght away for me.

damn this sucks, I filled in the form wrong (thought it was still 2007... doh!) so mines now shot up to 2grand... and a bit... :( However, the really odd thing is... Its the same to insure me on a 318i, as it is a 318IS... Hmmmm..

Anyone know of a site for young drivers that is reasonable?

Have you tried:- http://www.4youngdrivers.co.uk/

Like Daimlerman, I'm 'of a certain age'. Upside is that I pay £105 pa for fully comp , limited mileage, full no claims, etc on my 318iS :D

I paid about £750 to insure my 318is. 24 - 0ncb (they wouldn't take my company car or commercial stuff into account). Not too bad I thought.

Who would be good for me?

24 years old, 1 yr NCB, upto 10,000 miles (Probably on par with my eGT's mileage - did 8k+ Sept 06 - June 07).

Direct Line quoting me £1.1k fully comp on H reg 318is, but turning 25 in March...
