How much would such a car be worth? (E30 with special engine

Hello guys,

As there aren't exactly a lot of such cars around, I wanted to get a feel of how much such a car could be going for / is worth. The car in question is an E30, with the E36 M3 engine, either an S50 or S52 engine in it. Not an E30 M3 car, but a 'normal' E30 with the afore mentioned engine. With the rest of the car being decent.
It would be hard to gauge the value of such a car, as they hardly ever come about, so I thought I would ask you guys, as there are quite a few real E30 experts here with a lot of knowledge, so if anyone knows...

One is currently for sale and has been for a while though it is certainly no normal car since every single part of it is awesome!

Another in a well specced touring (IIRC BigPimping) struggled to sell last year. Hard to say In fairness they are probably actually worth less than they cost to build which is a shame.

Eventually being the operative word, a car is worth what someone is willing to pay. If you're not in a hurry, someone will buy it.

If you're thinking of building an e30 with an s50/52 in it in an attempt to sell at a profit... keep on dreaming!

If you're after info because you want to buy one, offer £500.

If he doesnt give you a slap, go from there until you reach a price you both think is acceptable.

Are you talking bout a purple tech 2 kitted e30? if so its a bit of a village bike.. And as yet no one knows why..

Jai find me a good S50 e30 for £4k and I'll buy it right now. I think they've got to be worth more than that, admittedly it is a pretty narrow market though.

The calypso red car with hartge 17" splits changed hands for £3500 just over a year ago , it owed the victim over 15 bags ! It has since changed hands for about 6k. The purple car has been doing the rounds for a while , i am not sure why no one keeps it for very long,on casual inspection it looks ok. The red touring with the 3.6 M5 engine owed the original victim over 20 bags and was sold last year for less than 6.
A fool and his money are easily parted !

and it's still not quite finished,
and i know if i was to sell it i wouldn't get anywhere near that back.

Wow, I must admit I'm quite surprised in a sense! It really is a shame I think if these guys can't even get their money back, considering the amount of labour and skill they put into those cars in addition to the financial costs. Well, I guess it's good news if anyone is in the market for one!
Regarding the mention of the one that is being on sale, where is it being advertised? I searched the forum and pistonheads, but couldn't find it anywhere.

most people who have done conversions like this myself inculded do it for the challenge of doing it, the fun in driving it, and the sheer shock/sleeper factor. and most people tend to keep their cars for long!

An "original" E30 with an M3 E36 or M5 E34 engine is worth about 60.000,- SEK here in Sweden just to an information (so you can look up an online curency calculator and check the price in sterling)
Its hard to give any values of a car like that, if you are lucky you will get the money for parts back but, never the time and labour on it!
It is all about how well done it is, and how the car look today who is the key point to get a good price for it, but an engine alone is worth about £2000 +

aye,i have modded a few cars and only ever made a real profit once,swapped my mi16 pug 205 for a wait for it now no shittin,2 year old fiat sciecento sporting 15k miles,running 17's,50 brake nos kit on a 55 bhp engine sparco buckets and harnesses,sound system,neons when they were cool and expensive with the chavs,with all the standard parts i took all the good bits off it and sold the car to my mrs for an insanely cheap 1500 quid was easy worth 3200 quid at the time,only took the money so i could buy something for myself lol,got 700 quid for the bits and kept alloys for my civic
