i tohught it was a good mag this month, nice to see Munky's tourer in there along side some cars that have had many thousands spent on them when his as had very little, just shows you dont need to spend tohusands to get a feature.

do something different or interesting with your e30,send them a couple of pics and a story so far for the readers rides section and if they like what they see theyll get back in touch for a feature .rwikky wrote:Just wondering like.. Say if you want to put your car in the Mag, How do go about it??

that mag is painful. i still buy it for the ocasional high powered e30. but on the whole it is filled with the most disgustingly average show cars with hidious interiors and poor body work. i have seen a few e30's from members here who have done very well with they cars and look great. but on the whole that magazine is painful to read.
rule number 1 dont put your own face on every page if u are the editor or wrote the artical. we buy the mag to look at cars not ugly people. if i wanna look at a person ill get a playboy!
rule number 2 dont put the owners fat ugly mug in the mag at all.
rule number 3 get a photographer who can take a decent photo.
anyone who disagrees needs to look at a quality magazine. order a copy of our "Street Machine" if u dont beleive me. you will see good photography and ultra clean cars. no bmws tho sadly.

im about a 1/100th of the way there with both my cars and even when they are finished i wont want a feature neither of my cars are set out to be show, drift, drag or anything else i dont see why i should get a feature for building the car i want nor do i wanna be featured in anything that has any wiff of rat look to it. i lost all respect for pbmw when they went down that route. i know its big in other scenes but not in the bimmer scene so they can keep it,
currently without a BMW ðŸ˜

I agree with treeseries, any mag that features sh*tty rat look cars doesnt deserve a second glance.

ive been contacted a couple of times about features of my car but when it costs me money in lost work and travelling expenses midweek its not worth it so mine wont ever see the hallowed pages of a bmw mag. PF maybe but not PBMW.munky30.1 wrote:nah, they're all a bunch of toffs on here, they can buy it themselves if they want to read it.murran wrote:yeah as i said on trampd..... well done! good to see a feature car in a mag that hasnt seen any polish in years!!

id have thought your cossy touring would have been right up retro cars street!! they love putting random newer engines in cool old cars!fuzzy wrote:ive been contacted a couple of times about features of my car but when it costs me money in lost work and travelling expenses midweek its not worth it so mine wont ever see the hallowed pages of a bmw mag. i say good on pbmw for putting a proper car in their mag.
im sick of seeing overly polished e46s with alcantara dashboards that im bored of looking at, while im stood in the shop/library before buying ppc or retro cars.
pbmw is just max power for bms! theve got some way to reverse this by featuring munkys car. but they have a long way to go before i buy it regulally.

my touring has been in several mags in the readers rides section. ive even had my last project in performance ford and that was a toyota celica with a cosworth engine. the celica was also in mags about 7 or 8 times but only twice as a feature

I've never bought it... I didnt even buy this issue. I stole it from a mate. But shhhh, he hasnt reallsed yet.
I dont buy any car magazines. Used to buy street machine but when they became american car world it went downhill fast.
If I was made to buy anything it would be ppc or custom car.

Thats got to be the gayest statement iv read on here so far.treeseries wrote:im about a 1/100th of the way there with both my cars and even when they are finished i wont want a feature neither of my cars are set out to be show, drift, drag or anything else i dont see why i should get a feature for building the car i want nor do i wanna be featured in anything that has any wiff of rat look to it. i lost all respect for pbmw when they went down that route. i know its big in other scenes but not in the bimmer scene so they can keep it,
Your telling me that just because you dont like the "rat look" you wouldnt want anything to do with the mag.
And just because "rat look" is not huge in the bmw scene you think its shit.
No offence to any concourse types here but i think thats gotta be one of the most boring things out. That doesn't mean i wont buy a mag because some sort of that car is in there, nor do i not appreciate the kinda stuff the concourse types go to. I know of an old cosworth thats been rebuilt from the ground up, almost all new or reconditioned parts and its taken a lotta work but i appreciate thats what hes into.
You lost respect for a magazine because it feautred(sp) a type of modifying you didn't like? In this case rat look. I guess you would rather have the magazine full on immaculate show cars that only come out at weekends. I prefer a car to be used and built for a purpose.
You know my feelings munky, top work. I hope this pisses the purists of on here.

good on ya!
so do they pay you to feature your car? or do the mags think you should jump thru hoops to be so lucky that performance ford wants to feature your car?
