Hi is 30 MPG good for an E30 320i SE 1988, she's managed 34 MPG on a 300 mile motorways only journey cruising at 70, she's being used as a daily driver as she has only done 116,000 miles un molested apart from a full stardard size stainless steel exhaust system not strait through, just wanted to make sure shes running correctly and all above board, shes just had a full service and a full set of new bridgestone tyres. Other than one tyre being given an advisory she sailed through her MOT

i'm gradually going to start replacing all sensors over the coming months and change coil, and rotor arm, dizzy cap

Thanks
oakey

I'd be tempted to leave it well alone if it's running that well!

i must admit the week i had it i couldn't resist the great sound it makes from 3500 - 4000 RPM, it's got a fantastic sound but when throttled back she makes a great midrange crusier

30+ mpg is excellent for a 320i. I can just about squeeze 32-33mpg from mine on a run. It does about 20mpg around town.

i must admit mine never goes any where near my local town as normally i use my wifes mk3 golf 1.6, for doing the shopping run etc so my MPG is purely motor way and a little stop start traffic, and only running cold for about five mins at both ends of the daily journey.

Eventually i'll replace all relays, all fuses, sensors it's just a thing i do with older cars, usually rules out these as possiblilies if anything goes wrong

30+ miles per gallon sounds pretty good to me...
I used my 320i for pizza deliveries and struggled to average 20 mpg.
But that is all city centre driving, and mine is an auto which makes mpg even worse :(

getting 36 average over 300 miles mainly motorway? its a 325 now. hoping to get at least the same of better with my minty mint rebuild, as i wont have a 1/4 inch gap is my inlet gasket 8O

the 320 was in good fettle but could have been better, still got around 32 with my light shoes on, square root of fark all with the throttle stomping boots on.
