It's not about the ultimate speed, it's the speed you carry around the corners. Drive an E30 M3, every pr1ck on the road will race you, and some of them will be faster on the straights. Then you come to a roundabout. You'll enter the r/b with him up your ar$e, then you'll straighten up, look in your mirror, and wonder where he's gone. That's what it's all about.

Loads of "modern" cars have more power, and more straight line speed. But point to point, the M3 is where it's at. And my car is appreciably nicer to drive on 15's.

Take the cars for what there are, classic homolagation specials.

That reminds me of a Subaru once!

He had the inside line on the roundabout too!

Well put, and I agree with 15" wheels Did as you described with my E30 325i, with just polly bushes, B8 shocks and springs with a merc behind, he started flashing his lights as I left the roundabout well ahead of him. I just smiled to myself :D

tbh the old cars like the 190 evo's and E30's have the edge because they are just the cars you can properly play around with. people strip them out, do engine swaps and dump turbos in them for a laugh. however, the 'richer folk' buy a stock car and dont touch it because the price will depreciate too much.

what im getting at is that, although i doubt the E30 kept up with the GT3 and noble i wouldnt be surprised if it did if it was properly sorted out like you said.

i still want an E30 more than anything though... simply for the fun factor!!
