Is it just me?

well i did a run from my house to london and back the other day, turned out to be about 180 miles round trip, but i suppose alot of that was heavy traffic, which isn't good. Now i think about it it was worse on fuel on the way there when the traffic was really bad than it was on the way back.
I dunno how accurate the mpg guages are but on the motorway thats usually up near the high 30s mark.

The 1.6 and 1.8 seem to not be great on fuel. I used to get about 220 miles to 40 quid in my 318i, mix of arround town and A roads. My 325i gets about 350 miles to 45 quid!
Your mpg isnt too bad for arround town/traffic.

Hmm,
I do portsmouth - manchester on £35 in a 318i
About 250 miles all told, but I can squeeze more out if I stick to 70.

Just a thought, when i first start my car it idles at the same speed as it does when it's warm. So when you go to pull away etc it splutters and generally don't like it. Could this be the temp sensor or something? I have heard if these go then it can give incorrect signals to your ecu and cause bad fuel efficiency.
