Hi everyone!
Is it possible to use the E30 M3 dogleg tranny (Getrag 265) to 318is M42 engine? What kind of modifications is needed if it's possible?
Thanks & regards,

Not as far as I am aware...the bell housings are different bolt patterns (s14/m10/m30 are the same)
it does have a removable bellhousing though so might be made to work
a better option would be an e36 box ( i THINK that it would bolt straight up and work really well, 1:1 5th)
what i have on my iS is a getrag 260 box from a 325i with the bellhousing cut and rotated so it bolts up properly. works a treat but not a cheap job, and the gear linkages need cutting and welding to suit
only other way for a CR box would be the m20 dogleg, getrag 245. but the e36 box better idea IMO

What are the gear ratios in the normal E30 318is box?

iS box is pretty similar to the M40 box, not sure if identical. overdriven 5th..usual e30 stuff nothing flash, hence the 4.1:1 final drive
