does any one know if these actually make a difference. my mate hass from the zone is giving me one and i just wanna know if they make a difference.
i got a 325i cab with a 2.8 z3 lsd and a straight through exhuarst system. will the boost valve make a big difference?

great bit of kit, but these are only of real use when used in conjunction with the special resistor and two electric superchargers (one sucking in reverse from the exhaust), and of course the sonicly tuned spark plugs, all easily found on ebay. potential gains of up to 50-500hp are to be found if the adverts are to be believed
put them all on together for real performance............

what the ''boost'' valve does is increase the fuel pressure in the fuel rail (by basically overriding the fuel pressure regulator) this additional fuel pressure sits in the fuel rail and makes absolutly NO real difference to the amount of fuel each injector allows into your engine, and if it did then the air combined with the fuel would not be enough as its metered (and conrolled) by the air flow meter thus your engine will run rich (the same effect can be found by disconeecting the blue temp sensor for free if you wish)..... these do not work. in fact the only thing they really do improve is the likelyness of an engine fire.
buy by all means put one on, but buy a good fire extinguisher

Getting a sensible ratio diff on it (unless it's got a direct top gear gearbox to go with it) will make a lot more difference! The acceleration off the line must be horrendous.
Standard fueling maps are set up on the lean side of the mixture that gives maximum power for reasons of efficiency, economy, emissions and the need for the car to be able to run on a wide range of fuel 'quality'.
Increasing the fuel pressure is a crude way enriching the mixture, so will give a minor increase in power at a disproportionate cost in fuel consumption, etc.
The job is far more effectively accomplished by fitting a well designed 'chip' to the ECU. One that is properly developed and intended for the UK market, such as one of Ant's zone chips.

I had a FSE power boost valve, it started leaking fuel over the dizzy cap 
and it sits higher than standard, very close to the bonnet, break sharp enough and it will leave a kink in your bonnet and obviously break the boost valve and as MR Lee said, make sure u have a good fire extinguisher at hand

you are not the only one, IIRC Simon??? had or knew of a car with one of these valves, same deal fuel leak in the engine bay, that would not take long to cause some bother (and at a pound a litre over there an engine fire would be one of the least of your problems!!!) ps at current Us dollar v pound rate we are at a dizzy 13p a litreit started leaking fuel over the dizzy cap
