The local independant (Prestige German Cars) has put the owner in touch with me to see if anyone's interested in buying this car.

It has covered 157k miles and MOT'd until August 2008

Recent work includes top-end overhaul, 2 front wings and a respray. The car is white and has a cloth interior.

The car has no problems and is in very good condition. The owner has had the car for over 5 years and has a full history. PGC can vouch for the car.

The owner is picking up his new car soon, so an early deal is needed.

Sorry, but I've no photos

Sorry Mark, I've tried to get some figure out of him this morning, but all he said was a reasonable price. I get the impression that it's been valued as a 20 year old E30 trade-in, without the garage knowing what it is.

I know someone who rang him today and the only other bit of info is that it was registered in 1988.

Mate went to see the car last night. It's missing side skirts and has aftermarket exhaust fitted. All the other Alpina bits seemed to be present. Boot floor was poor and as it was raining couldn't get underneath to check anything.

He had a ride and it went well apparently. Offered £900 and that was turned down. Mate won't be making another offer.

The owner told me if he got 5 grand he would be happy, theres rust and plenty of it from what hes told me, the only picture he would send me was 3 or 4 years old, probably more. Its been used as a daily car for 5 years, im staying away from this one...

Dynoed this today...

short of the mark but comfortably more HP and TQ than the stock 325 has.

ran it outa the box, ie as bought with the following known issues.

Duff TPS( no WOT or idle outputs), slack throttle cable, and small air leak @ the breather pipe, lean on the fuelling but she's a good old beast.

more to come once its had a proper service.

sounds a bit like my old engine Ant, well probably not as bad as mine! that did 190bhp and 190lbs which i reckon yours is roughly. As a none working TPS isn't good!

Not enough

TQ was 177.8, HP was 182.1 but with fuelling the wrong side of Stoich thats pretty decent TBH ( 1.1 lambda @ 6200 @ WOT , should be 0.85 ish for best power )

New TPS, fix air leak and new cable, then I'll run it again.

always good to find out what you have before "fixing" anything or adding any modifications.

Drives very well, but TBH @ the mo my Red SE is easily quicker in all respects.

More to come

yeah, about 3 O clock, I sneaked outa the workshop

I missed most of the other cars due to the last minute arrival but Nigel told me another 'pina gave similar figures today.

We all agreed though, no-one has seen the factory figures outa one of these, nothing short of a tardis will rectify that situation though.

Just looked @ the plugs......... Bosch Wrongness in there !!! NGK BPR6ES going in tomorrow

Edit: @ Simon, no mate, colour coded tech 1 on the boot, type 159 snowplough(iirc) and side skirts went adrift when the wings were fitted, Barry has some though, might have a deal although I do like these sans skirts coz I'm wrong

I have an NGK fetish, never use any other plugs....

why ? well, long story short, waaaaaaaaay back in the day, AMD did some testing on a new 2-5, and the BRP6ES gave a 4hp increase right through the range over the others tested on the day, never had any issues with NGK, even whan gapped to twice stock with a bar of boost trying to blow the sparks out.

Ahh i see. Aplina skirts are wrongness fitting wise. Self tappers along the sills :clin:

NGK all the way makes a 2.5 so much smooooother. Bosch are fine but NGK are better!

What decision Barry?! I'm waiting on the tray, i'm waiting for some more money i'm owed and i'm working on the tranpsortation issue, found a few peeps who could help me so far.

Oh my front C2 2.7 badge turned up yesterday.......£76 with discount. They are lovely though
