I'll be looking at some thing next year tbh Ian, baby due this weekend

I'll get Danny+Kynder to come along for a weekend of it as well - i think between us all we could re-lay the air field in rubber, stand back, and crack up at planes trying to land on it and bouncing off

the next one is january, and im gonna take the mighty 316, with a welded diff :D plus i can drift it now on the open diff over the lorry park so on a mig spec it should be even better.

One of the main guys from TrampDrift brought a 316 to the first TDW and managed to drift it okish with a mig diff. He is at a fairly high level of drifting mind and binned the old 1.8 for a 2.5 as soon as he could lol.

I've got a 3.91 Arc welded diff here - it'll rip your subframe out before any of the welds fail - not gonna use it as i picked up a slipper not to long ago, might come in handy for one of you guys? also got a small case open diff of unknowen ratio.

There was a guy at the Pod this year on the drift course in a Grey sLag 2 door with TrampDrift on the bottom of the doors - is this the guy your on about?

neil, you know that diff :D

how much will it affect my acceleration compared to a 4.45?

You'll be slower pull away but more top end, you'll also burn more clutch to spin up but not to much of a noticable difference tbh

It'll be heavier than your 4.45 as it's a medi case not a small.

hmm, dont need much to spin it up as a good kick of second gear at the momen sends it sideways with a little bit of steering, probally best to weld up a small case as will be easier to change bettween the two etc.

Very true, inter changing between med + small requires the out put flanges to be changed as well.

I'll work out the ratio on this small one i've got here + if it's any good for you, your more than welcome to it - - - - - - - i'll even try to get my mate Rick to Arch it all up for you.

You wont want it as a daily drive - trust me, it'll try to bounce your fillings out every time you slow corner or reverse park.

But on the other hand - an excellent piece of kit for the above mentioned tyre shreading action

I'd advise fitting it on the day - maybe, just maybe i'll be there to give you a hand doing it???????

Pm'ing you now fella.

Neil.
