Powerflex bush fitting advice needed ASAP!

Hi, I'm fitting powerflex bushes at the mo. I'm doing the front ones on the rear of the arm. I've chisselled out the rubber inner and I'm left with the metal ring inside the cast part. Does this metal ring need to come off as well? it looks like it does but I was afraid to start smashing it getting it out in case I needed it!

Cut it out! Take the blade out of your hacksaw,thhread it through the hole in the lollypop,reatatch the blade and off you go!Take great care to make certain that you fit the lollypop part of the bush the right way round,withthe reccess for the top hat's rim facing the front of the car.I got it wrong,twice....
