Why would you want to convert it to RHD?
Ruins it totally!

if you fit the e36 quick rack they are virtually the same as a LHD version.
i actually know of this car and it is very clean and well looked after and performs well.

What are you talking about? There is only two problems converting E30 M3's from LHD to RHD, the exhaust manifold to steering coupling clearance and the fact you cant get a quicker ratio RHD steering rack. Both of these problems can be over come. The conversion was done by birds of Uxbridge which is the UK dealer for Hartge so wasn't exactly lashed up by some cow boy! So tell me, how has it been ruined?!

on the birds conversions the exhaust manifolds were modified and the primary's stayed equal length. problem is they only built about 20
I'd have one. Some will moan about the brake linkage but it's not really a problem if it's adjusted spot on

Absolutely gorgous in my opinion, as long a it is carried out by proper people an not a bodge job then is most definately worth it. Do a job do it once, do it properly!
So where is this fool to justify what he said?

i belive it does, but as i said i know this car and its spot on. a quick rack conversion is hardly going to break the bank. as for the brakes, on the road you will not notice, and on the track only if you are puching realy hard will you notice any difference. and a again a simple upgrade will sort this outdannyboy759 wrote:but it will have a 325 rack no doubt and the brakes on a rhd are never as good as a lhd car

All Birds cars had the correct RHD wiper linkage fitted which makes me think this car is not an original Birds car. Nothing wrong with a home converted car if its done properly (i am doing a B6 3.5 as we speak
) but passing off a homebrew as something it's not is naughty !
Being LHD only adds to the kudos of the M3 and for a long time kept undesireables from the helm but alas not any more as witnessed by some of the monsters roaming the streets !
PS Anyone who can't get to grips with LHD obviously is a bit lacking coordination wise and of dubious sexuality !

can't see the problem here
so what if its been converted to rhd its still the same car
just the same as buying a sport or 4 door from germany, same spec just the steering wheel is on the wrong side
will be back in an E30 oneday soon !

If I was in the market for an M3, it would either have to be pre-converted to RHD or I'd do it myself.
B*l**cks to originality, LHD when you drive on the left is so wrong.
If BMW had made RHD E30 M3's no-one would have a problem with converted cars, would they?
.....And the brake linkage argument doesn't hold water either. Nit-picking, or what????

If this is a car owned by a very large Asian gentleman, then it's a very nice car. Saw it at The Yeovil Show in 2006. If it is that car, then it's been very well looked after with no expense spared.
As for the braking crap, the average person just will not notice the difference, certainly not the level that makes the car noticable inferior.
Like has been mentioned before, the percieved issues and actual issues with a good RHD conversion can be negated with modern mods.
W@nking over some nostalgic crap doesn't in any way make a left hand drive car better than a right hand drive car on British roads.

i dont think the car is ruined just by changing to RHD its not that bad at all
i personally would want it LHD just because i think its a better set up i being LHD!
gear stick in the right hand feels like its how it should be - more natural.
