Was in my father's old standard early 325i which did 145 and he said it still had a bit in it. He still talks about that car and claims it's one of the fastest he's driven.

E46 M3 CSL but dreaming of another E30.
Hmm im not one for driving fast mostly as im a fan of the asre out at roundabouts and corners thing, although sometimes you just gotta test the motor out
so ive managed 139 in a mark 4 golf GTi pd 150 (thats the 150 bhp turbo diesel lump for you petrol heads!!!)
I also managed 130 there a whileback in my 89 325i sport. Was doing about 5400rpm in 5th so there is some left in the old girl yet

I remember it well! 133 was the indicated speed I topped out at on that day Rog. That was supposed to be the "economy run" home too! PMSL!Jesus325iTouring wrote:and 125 in the Tourer, hmmm,Scott was there to gunning down my tail at,well TBH i'm not sure 135 ish(?)
I had my old Dolphin Grey 325 off the clock one night on my way home after only owning it for about 3 months. I drove the 60odd remaining miles home skaking with adrenaline that night!
Ive also had the Volvo T5 well off the clock (which is 160 IIRC) with a GPS backed 161..... and that thing doesnt corner or handle like my sport..... so 160 feels every bit as fast.... but on a waterbed!
BTW, Dave, that thing STILL makes me shake with adrenaline when I push that big pedal down hard! I love it! Do you miss that car yet? (apart from the fuel economy with heavy feet and the speed it goes through front tyres - 7k for a pair of Firestone Firehawks!)

My fizzie did 67mph and at the time that was fast , Down hill and was trying toget 70 but wouldnt do itbullitt wrote:Must have had a 65cc bore kit??.. Had an AR50 with an AR80 engine tuned barrel, micron & kx80 carb.. 85mphAndy_magic wrote: Yamaha fizzie would do 72mph with tailwind LOL
My old rover 220 tomcat turbo (155mph standard) , Bigger turbo , Front mounted cooler just over 1 bar of boost , Chipped , De-cat etc managed approx 165 mph clocked by my mates delimited m5 , Gearbox is apparently geared to 168mph tops on the tomcats .
Afterwards i kept losing drive , Took it into work and id knackered the torsion diff (lsd) and the driveshafts were weaving in and out of it , Mechanic said if the car had not of been lowered they could have popped out and id be brown bread
Fixed it and sold it , Quick lil car

If i'm not mistaken, you could transplant a GP100 engine into Fizzy,to the un educated it didn't look any different.Steve-E30 wrote:My fizzie did 67mph and at the time that was fast , Down hill and was trying toget 70 but wouldnt do itbullitt wrote:Must have had a 65cc bore kit??.. I seem to recall the AP50 had the advantage of a 5 speed box and could often out run a Fizzy, shame it was ugly piece of kit thoughSPADGE wrote:Did a similar indicated speed on my AP50 many moons ago and thought i was Barry SheenJesus325iTouring wrote:Try doing 62mph on a Yamaha FS1E,now that feels fast![]()

I could only get 120 out my 318i as the diff is so short and the cam was loose
still it got there in good time now with the m30 it gets to the 120 in no time at all
130 out my 325i - loved that car.
135 out of my pug 205 Mi16
then is a guys brand new M5 about 8/9 months ago i have no idea how fast we were going but the 135 was well beat
if the limiter had not been removed i think we would have hit it?

150mph in my mates tomcat turbo although has been dynod to reach 167mph! full straight through exhause, boost control, huge indction kit, lsd, and some hard piping boosting at 12psi
Major speedo innacuracy there, no way a tuned 8v would do that unless it was turbo'dSilverfang wrote: Fastest Ever ever was in a Cavalier mk 3.... tuned of course 2.0 8v! 157 indicated at the limiter in 5th!
143 on the gps in my 2.1 zetec feesty
125 in 320.
Off the speedo in my S2 RST then the doors sucked in so chickened out.
Well over 160 in my mates 400brake Orion, the front lifted and starting making circular motions, def brown trouser moment
