Does a 316i have enough power to do a donut? or drift?

I always thought to do a burnout you would have your left foot on the brake but wouldnt that stop the rear wheels aswell?

Couple of random questions for ya all!

Can not say if you would have enough power but as above i know my 318is use to.To do a a burnout you need to put it in 1st.Then as you lift the clutch up with your left foot use you right foot to go over the edge of your accelerator pedal and brake pedal at the same time.If you do this right you will push the accelerator and brake down together at the same time.By doing this you lock the front brakes on and spin the back wheels or wheel depending on type of diff you have fitted. :D

A 316i doesnt have the power really. A 318i struggles unless there is some grit arround. Needs to be gravel really.

You can donut a 316!(I have done it in a lardy e36)
Turn in (whilst rolling)dip clutch at same time, then rev to the limiter-dump clutch, round you go! If you are feeling fly go for a full throttle change in to 2nd for more smoke!

Yep, i used to do donuts and burnouts and sideways quite a lot in my old 316i. used to donut quite well actually.

The 318iS is better tbh but the 316i had less grip so was good at getting the arse out. heres a wee vid of a 316i, proof it can go sideways.lol. bout 1:50 theres dounuts.lol.

huh?

A 318is will do it easily, but the question was the 316i.

I dont think any 18 year old zoners can afford a M3.

I dont see the logic here?!

I couldnt quite afford one when I was 18, had to be 19, M3Ben05 was the same

316i yes, 318is yes, M3 definately loads of vids online for it.
318is's are pretty good and go sideways well especially on champiuro tyres

it your really arsed, pump your tyres up to the max 40psi check rating on tyre wall and then go try.. you wont have a problem I used to slide my is about on 205/55/15's and 205/50/16's at normal pressures where my mate swore by having higher pressures... both open diff heroness though! - it's boring with an lsd too easy!
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

My 316i (open diff, standard susp.) used to donut on gravel ok but i couldnt get it round on tarmac, the inside wheel would just spin and knock like a b*st*rd! Im cursed with mechanical sympathy though, had to give it up!
It handled like it was twelve foot high and full of water, kinda miss it now :?
