PMSL at this thread.

"My shit-pot cheap-o wanky wheels that everyone told me would crack and wobble seem to be shit, can someone explain why?"

Alpina Reps FTW, cos they look wicked innit.

An alternative way to tell everyone you have slurry for a cerebrum is to just get a sunstrip that says "SHIT FOR BRAINS".

Best quote evar. That's why F1 cars have started making their wheels from solid lead.

Sod unsprung weight, we actually all want the heaviest wheels we can find to aid our back end stability, if they crack as well, that's an unexpected bonus. :D

So far in this thread we have discovered someone who is incapable of speaking anything other than text talk shit, and a handling guru with lead lined wheels. Result.

Next we'll be hearing about the positive effect that folding the back seats down has on aerodynamics.

Oh and the pros and cons of ebay resistors and pc superchargers.

"Alpina Reps make baby Jesus cry" and thats why they crack

But as I suspected, ste couldnt help but post on here as I knew he would and he came up with some more funny shit. Bargain. :)

I have driven with alpina reps for a year then switched to bbs 15's for a few months then I switched back to alpina reps because I feel that my car is better to drive with them on.

If someone would like to explain why they dont give the car a lower center of gravity then go ahead?

I never said that the heavier the wheels the better they are, and if you took a moment to read properly and engage your brain before you open your mouth you would realise that.

STE F1 cars are nothing like e30's are they really so your point is totally irrelavant.

I have done very high speeds many times and they dont wobble or anything, they are fine.

Its not the wheels that are crap its some peoples driving thats crap you cant just smash wheels into kirbs and wander why they crack they aren't titanium.

I dont think alpina reps deserve such disrespect, they arent that bad.

People just jump on the bandwagon and abuse them instead of stepping back and making their own opinion

Just my opinion though.

it doesnt make it lower. the extra weight of the wheels gives the car a lower center of gravity.

You think that's going to make a difference.

Lighter wheels are much much better than heavy wheels!

But unsprung weight is the enemy of good handling? You would be better off having extra weight in the cabin and light wheels.

Having lighter wheels means less rotational forces which will improve turn in. Would probably increase stopping power too??

In terms of physics it makes sense. The more weight there is towards the bottom of the car and the less weight there is towards the top the lower the center of gravity is

Im not talking stopping power, no offence maxfield

 I've never heard anything like it! Adding weight makes your average car handle worse regardless of where abouts you put it!

Agreed.

Leave it to the engineers.

Exactly what I was getting at Jamie.

Weight in general is a bad thing, weight at the hub is the worst type.

the reason why i did put this post up is bcoz i heard many times ppl having cracked alpina reps and they need welding etc and im one of them  ive had other wheels in the past on my previous cars but never had this crack problem this the first time after i got these alpina reps

i never started to think for a moment i was an engineer.

If you look back at my previous posts I was only trying to say that they work better for me.BBS 15's dont feel as good on high speed corners as my reps do. Im not an expert on handling,im not an engineer and i have never once said i am, i was just putting across my opinion as i have said many times and after my experiences with bbs and bk's this is the hypothesis i have adopted.

I'll stick by the my point that more weight on the bottom of the car = a lower center of gravity FACT

for eg a double decker bus with alot of people on the top doesnt have a good center of gravity where as if it had alot of people on the bottom the center of gravity would be better

r4j66 your wheels were cracked before you had them so you dont really know what happened to them
