so wheels off and I've looked at the screw that holds the disc to the hub and the hex is completely rounded! I've tried using a centre punch and hammer but had no luck! Any ideas? Thinking of drilling the head off it, removing the disc and trying to get mole grips on whats left?

Cheers lads

if your changing the discs then whack the back of the disc behind the screw.its cast so will shatter around the screw allowing you to get a set of mole grips on it to remove.if your not replacing the discs its probably best to drill it out and use a stud/bolt remover although the discs can be used without that screw.

I had to use an angle grinder to change one set of discs....the screw just steady's the disc while you put the wheel bolts in so do not worry too much about it :!: :!:

would the brake disc not being held on by the screw be a problem for the mot?

shouldnt be, the bolt does bugger all for holding the brake force and they dont take your wheels off for mot anyway.

I had to hammer in a star (torx) bit that was just a bit bigger than the hex and used a socket to turn it (with lots of wd40) - depends if there's any hex shape left at all! Get new bolts from the dealer, why not- only pence.
