obc fitting guide

6 button is a straight swap for the existing clock. Loom connects to the back of speedo pod and the gong. The other end goes to the outside temp sensor in the LH air duct.grantfk10 wrote:Any info on fitting the 6 button OBC/clock?
I'm not completely perfect.......there are some bits missing or broken.
But the weather here helps!!!

Should be fine. The late 4 pot Lux models all had the 6 button OBC as standard.Frenchy wrote:Got the full monty 6 button one complete with stalk to change modes do i need to do anything else as mine came out of a 325i tourer?

You will need the relay control module that is attached to the ECU mounting plate for the OBC to function.gaszman wrote:ok guys have obc fitted but do not have large box above ecu or horn ( guess any will do ) but tried to start the motor she wont start is this because i do not have relay box cheers

I stand corrected. I thought you needed the OBC, loom and relay for it to work and the temp sensor, gong etc could be optional? I'll be fitting mine next week!datourer wrote:The relay box is only there for the code function, everything else will work without it. Gaszman, do you have the 6 or 13 button model?

for basic functions, time/date, av mpg/mph, stopwatch and maximum speed setting you just need the obc and loom. For the outside temperature you need a seperate loom going to the temp' sensor in the passenger side air-duct. The gong and stalk aren't really necessary but are nice to have.

there is a blank loop for part of the loom that is something to do with the code function/alarm bit. if this plug is missing the car wont start as it eventually feeds the coil and fuel pump.gaszman wrote:ok guys have obc fitted but do not have large box above ecu or horn ( guess any will do ) but tried to start the motor she wont start is this because i do not have relay box cheers

Like I said, horn or temp' sensor. As for the light on the end of the stalk...?? Got a picture? Slinky, the yellow plug goes into the empty socket on the back of the clocks.datourer wrote:It'll be the temp' sensor and/or horn. Nothing else goes to the engine bay.
