here is a quote from the site !!!!!!
Several EU proposals across the years are dangerous to the classic car movement. One that has been under consideration is to ban the use of cars older than 10 years. Similarly, Edinburgh City Council is considering the banning of cars over 15 years old from the town centre. These, and similar, proposals directly threaten the classic car movement, and encourage the manufacture of new cars, with the attendent environmental issues of sourcing raw materials, manufacturing, distriuting and scrapping the spiralling supply of new vehicles.

I might be wrong but dont they have a similar rule in china or japan and thats why there are so many cars being exported that are actualy sound vehicals? sure i read it in a Banzi mag or something like that.

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

It is true appletree, in the far east cars over a few years old have to pay huge taxes its actually cheaper for average working joe to buy a new car every 3-5 years. The reason is purely political to boost manufacturing in own countries, keep economny going and keep people buying but they will only officially admit to environmental reasons for doing so, i suspect thats what will happen here for environmental reasons.
i'd do time for someone damaging my e30 let alone someone trying to take it away!

Cars without catalytic converters are banned from some Italian cities. Can't even drive an old fiat 500 in some.

Not a problem for E30s - Convert to LPG, or you can always fit one.Gwynleym10 wrote:Cars without catalytic converters are banned from some Italian cities. Can't even drive an old fiat 500 in some.
