Nope, but I certainly will. I can remove pannels of these kits very easily.
Seems like a very genuine honest seller, first one (other than you!) that I have come across. I have been finding most sellers seem to tell endless lies about their cars
Cheers

I tought you didnt want a rusty one? Are you prepared to replace a rusty scuttle which is no easy job? What colour is the leather snd would you be interested in selling it if you buy this sport as i really want heated seats!

I dont want a rusty one, but i dont want to fork out 5k either. Most say they arnt rusty, but they usually are in reality!
As for the scuttle i would simply take it to a body shop, and hand them the cash to do it. I cant do that sort of thing.
Probably wont end up with the car but if i do, who knows about the seats!

you say you won't fork out 5k for one why? for 5k it won't have holes in the scuttle (nasty dash out expensive job to repair properly) won't have all the other 325i issues like shagged exhaust manifold gaskets, knackered afm, icv's, worn rockers, noisey top ends. Then all the rusty brake and fuel lines and the normal sub frame bushes, top mounts rear, control arms bushes. 90% will have rust lurking behind the kits too, if you can see rust on a sport theres going to be something nasty where you can't see it
I know what id be after! It will cost you far more to sort this car than say a cherished decent car from the likes of wln or in the classifieds.
2k for sport is knackered needing resto territory. Don't do it. Shagged sports are money burners!

scuttle repair doesnt have to be crazy money, most bodyshops just dont know how easily a dash comes out of an e30
. having said that simon has a point about other parts of the car which can remain unseen.have a look at my resto thread (link in sig) for ideas where to look.
also consider what has been repaired when it was written off. im not one to put people off previously written off cars, they just need to have been repaired to a good standard.could have been something as simple as a split bumper and spoiler on a sport but its always worth getting an idea first.

Thanks for your opinions.
I think i have made the car sound worse than it is. I have lots of detailed pics of it, and there isnt any rust under the bonnet, or in battery tray etc.
Simon, in all honestly i dont have 5K! Im 18 and just leaving school! But i totally agree about putting the money into a good car, not a worn out one. Im off to view it tomorrow hopefully.
Most sports are listed as 'mint', but are totally rsuted under the kit etc. This one sounds more promising, as seller at least seems honest, but viewing tommorow will reveal all.
Matt, im following your thread keenly. I will be pulling out all the boot lining etc on the sport, im very careful. Im more than happy to walk away if there is something wrong also.
I will keep this updated.

a door and wing certainly isnt the end of the world. hope its a good un
dont let anyone have your pants down for the scuttle either.if all else fails bring it up to sheffield and ill sort it for realistic cash

Paul The car in question must be worth at least a couple of grand considering its a 'genuine sport'
Good luck mate, hope it turns out to be a gooden. Simon has a valid point in saying you get what you pay for. I picked my Sport up cheap, but in the long run has cost me well over 5k sorting all the problems out and still giving grief!!

Thanks guys. This one has had a lot of work recently done, new exhaust, bushes, alarm etc. I will let you know what its like. Cam has been serviced recently, also new tyres. Lots of history.
Raj - I think any old car will give grief, you got a good one there though. (but you know i think that
)
Matt - i will bear you in mind, you clearly know what your doing!!

Good luck with the Sport Paul. You have a good unabused example there with a few issues that need attention commensurate with it's age. I hope you do well from the spares but keeping the gear box, rad, heater matrix and head will save you buckets of cash should you ever need to use any of them.
Don't forget to keep me posted on progress and have a safe trip back tonight.

Thanks Jeff, the sport has gone to a good home. Thanks very much for all the spare parts also, i couldnt believe it! Two car loads! Thanks for helping out on the price also, i really appreciate it. 'Gun' is a top seller
.
For the other zoners the car has both rear outer arches rusted (inners are solid), bottom of one front wing and jacking point rusted, one side of scuttle and a little in one sunroof channel. Other than that its solid and im pleased. Less rust than the average 'mint' one lol.
This summer i might get the rust chopped out and replaced, who knows
. Car is top spec though.
I will keep you updated on this with lots of pics your way mate.

congrats on the new buy, hope you get the rust sorted out, it sounds like a fair bit of tricky ones, jacking point,,, done properly needs carpet out.. not too difficult but adds to labour, scuttles tricky, im guessing sunroof channal is a bit tricky, outer arches are alright (apart from the drivers side because of the petrol tank pipe??) and wing and be replaced...bmwe30mtech wrote:

Cheers Ali,
The rust is tricky, but not too bad. Inner arches, floor, sunroof pannel and the engine bay are totally rust free.
Not doing anything for 3 weeks untill exams are over

if you want advice / unbiased opinions on the rust just pm me matey.can advise the best course of action and what you should be roughly paying for work. really looking forward to the first drive of mine, sometimes wish i had just bought a straight one but being self employed money was tight at the time.not long now though

Well done fella, glad you finally found a sport your happy with and i hope the rust issues dont turn out to be to bad. If you need some quotes for repairs you could try my place. Is it the one with the heated seats and if it i would you be interested in selling? Look forward to seeing the pics.

You could easily by a sport in england for 5k, take the kit of at some point and realise there is rust!!

how much did you pay for it?

Congrats jboy, they are fun cars!
Ok, im not saying the price but it was fair for both seller and buyer.
I have driven the car home and it goes like a dream. Really fast, smooth, tight steering and excellent brakes. I couldnt stop smiling. The noise is awsome, so so so much better than my 1.8. It drives so so much better.
Barry, i wont be selling the heated seats im afraid. They are absolutely mint, i mean as new. I cant believe the interiors condition, its like it rolled out the factory
. Leather still so so soft.
The body is no where near as bad as i had thought. I have yet to find a scratch on the car, and the arches are repairable. I have removed all the boot carpets and there is no rust whatsoever. Its a very sold car in general, just needs a few areas sorting.
Jeff, i rang you yesterday when i was at your house, but got no answer, so i just drove off. Oh, the speedo is working fine now, just a loose wire!
I have also realised tweater speakers on the mirror mounts/area, storage container above the battery in the boot, unchipped top tint windscreen, roof aerial and 350w speakers in the rear shelf.
All round im very very happy with this car
.
