And since that lot had beige sport leathers and rear disc conversion, and BBS 15" wheels

Bet you weren't expecting something that organised! (had to put it together when arguing an insurance claim)

What's left...
Over next two weeks....
Propshaft coupling
Gearshift linkage
New rocker cover and moon seals
Blue temp sender
Change brakelight microswitch and springs
New fuel sender?
Replace missing bulb in console
Change T-piece valve in windscreen wash system
Change throttle body gasket
Replace AFM and ICV?
New BBS 15â€a wheel and tyre
2 new tyres
New brake pad wear sensor
Welding to sills
BMW business CD player
Toad Ai606 alarm

And longer term plans:
Full respray
2.5 conversion with rebuilt engine
3.64 LSD
Change the bumpers for ones with thinner black strip
SE sideskirts, IS front lip
Paint silver wheels black and refurb them
Cruise control retrofit
Air conditioning retrofit
Heated seats, wing mirrors and door locks
Paint rocker cover black —a VHT wrinkle plus paint
Megasquirt or Miller MAF sensor

You did ask :D Should be a nice car once I've finished. Half way there now, she was a brake-binding, f**ked diffed, knackered rear wheel bearinged, broken SI boarded, no stereod, unserviced for 2 years, bald tyred, cr*p wheeled, rusty, two functional shock-absorbered, terrible idlinged, leaking booted, ripped seated, pile of sh*t destined for the breakers (only thing that saved her was there was nothing decent to break on her) when I bought her a year and a half ago. Worst decision emotionally and financially I've ever made. Lost my job, house and girlfriend for her.... but she's worth it :D - just like all unloved 320i's

So be warned. Don't spend a penny on an E30. It's the beginning of the end.

Mine stands me at about £800 winkeye
Spec inc

M50 conversion
Sport leather/maplight/tweeters etc
16" Hartges
H&R/Bilstien suspension
All bushes replaced with genuine inc M3/ZM3 parts

Still to do

Swap current elelctric fan for M3 aircon variant
Fit Black roof lining(might do this next weekend)
Inner/out rear arches and partial repaint(soon as the weather improves)
Wheels refurbed(next month hopefully)
Toyo`s(possibly next week  )
This should all be done by July when its time for its next MOT.
Plan is then to sell it with 12 months MOT to fund my next project!

Anyone care to value my car?

Why has everyone spent more on fun stuff than me? All my money seems to have gone on boring mechanical repairs! Is that because my initial spend on the car was so low at £300? What did other people spend on buying their car?

Flogged my '87 320iSE and recently bought this E34 525iSE auto with M30B35 + manual conversion off my brother for £200, it needed some work and money spent but got it on the road for more or less what I sold the 320i for (£650) :P

lol stuff to do on the b20......... rear axel bushes, new headlamp adjusters on the low beam headlights. rear inner + outer arches, rust apperaing on the bottom of passinger side door. clutch, sump gasket, sort out the hesitation on the throttle. sunroof motor. really want to get a new front lower valance as mine is starting to bubble either side and i want to respray my i.s front lip. new front bumper going on as soon as i can get hold of some hex bolts to get the @ucker off!
stuff done.....
new steering rack(and i mean new), trackrod ends, bottom arms and bushes, front drop links, new e46 cab rear top mounts, new shockes front and back(sachs), lowered 30mm, new front top mounts, new exhaust, new leads, cam belt changed at 105,000(inc full inspection 2) now at 111,600(3 green lights remain). exact match bonnet, drivers wing and bootlid(no rust) (thanks bob_s!!) the very fine edition of genuine ac_schnitzer type 1's(getting a quality refurb soon!)

as for how much iv spent??? well you cant take it with you and there is no point in being the richest man in the graveyard!

I've just done a quick calculation.....
Assuming I've averaged 26.5mpg for the 3 and a bit years I've owned my E30, that's 6860ltr of petrol.
Assuming the average price of unleaded over the period has been 85p/ltr.....
I've spent £5831 on petrol!! :clin:

About 8K, although it goes, corners and stops a lot better than standard. With lpg it's also going to cost a lot less per mile than standard!

Ebay purchase price: £650
Massive first service to get it sorted: £1200
Cambelt, new front calipers, disks/pads all round, waterpump, rear subframe bushes, etc blah.
plus shocks/rollbars/springs/topmounts (about another £1k)

Went nuts getting the OBC working (£150, now have a LOT of spare OBC bits).
Ran it for a year, now have replaced Heater Matrix Valve (thanks Spadge) and clutch master/slave - still waiting for the bill on that one.

Shiny bits: BBS and front sport seats: £350

I think the moral is that a reliable E30 costs you at least £2k unless you really get lucky. I only spent what I did on this car because it was really clean underneath and should last a good while before I need to do any bodywork.
