its an odd combination thats for sure. its a 318is on the logbook but the shell is a genuine m3? if it is then it would be a good one to buy for a decent engine conversion.

As far as i can see the shell is an M3, but it certainly is a very strange car!
TBH, for the price it will end up going for it would be better buying a decent shell for 1500-2k and sourcing a decent engine to drop in

I think it would be a good buy it looks like it might go cheap, imagine it would make a good first car cheap insurance(ish) then in a few years drop an s14 in it!! killing two birds with one stone there.

The reaer rake looks glued on!! The roof is not smooth. Otherwise, the arches look ok.

Its an e30 with wide arches and a wheezy 4 pot... surely thats enough to make it an m3?

Everyone in this forum will agree that the 'wheezy' S14 is better than an M20

We all know the M20 is a boat anchor and the S14 is a masterpiece

Some arty type recently did a display in the tate modern of pictures drawn entirely with his own faesces, many of them were widely hailed as masterpiece's by the art fraternity.
The moral of this story, it may be considered by few as good, but its still essentially just a load of sh*t to the masses.

Looks like a "proper" E30 shell even has a full rubber seal around the engine bay would still be very suspicous though if it was cheap enough probably worth a punt!

I reckon this is an insurance job, as its been in staorage for a while, geezer took the engine out and flogged it to get more money out of the insurance, then re-ordered the chassis back on road by telling the insurance that the car has been stripped of the engine, then bought the shell back and shoved a 318is engine in it to sell off.. clean his hands and sorted, mates have done this before... thats a dodgy Effing car.. i wouldnt even smell the exhaust from that let alone touch it.... how ever if i was desperate to get an M3 shell then i would thros an E36 2.8 engine init and sorted....

if u look at the pic where it is the engian he is standing on the struts looking straght down . so i would agree alpina it is a insurence job he wont let u see the car up close at the front plus he wont tell u the vin because that would show that it is there for the car is fu*ked . would not touch it with any ones barge poll ?
