I have just picked up my 1st cab, 1988 (nice bits of chrome) 320 auto, cirrus blue with blue hood and leather and she looks great. Many thanks to my fellow E30 Zone friend who sold me the car (sadly) - I promise i will look after it and keep it 100%.
I really wanted some good advice from the Zoners on what kind of cleaning materials I should perhaps get to bring the car up to a fantastic condition (it doesn't really need a lot as the last owner did look after her)
• I have already a soft top care kit from Renovo Ltd, the kit has a hood cleaner, colour rejuvenator, waterproofing and a rear window polish
• I am just about to order the Gliptone leather care / scuff master kit for the leather seats —a any thoughts?
• What chrome polish should I use, I hear the Mequiar NTX chrome metal polish is really good?
• What bodywork cleaner/shampoo would you recommend?
• After the bodywork is clean what polish do you recommend (I can't always seem to remember the difference between a polish and a wax). I want to achieve a deep mirror like finish on the paintwork.
• What cleaner for the BBS wheels do you recommend and how do you get the wheels to look good for long.
• What are your thoughts about using a car cleaning mitt (the wife will laugh I know but I don't care)
Any great ideas / opinions / suggestions would be very much appreciated
I promise to post photos of the finished article looking at her best when my work is done.

As for the wheels, go to tesco, they have a cleaner for 1.50 (yank keyboard has no pound sign!). Spray on wait a minute rinse off. Magic. Turtle wax variant is six quid!!
Sounds like you have the bases covered. Some perfectioonists on here waxoil the underside to protect it. They'll enlighten you on more about that.

washing car i usually cheat by getting the local kosovan's to clean car
which gives me a chance to clear water traps out.
polish i use meguires-tech wax,gold class and speed detailer one after
the other expensive i know but ex results
for the leather i use auto glym leather cleaner and conditioner.
for deep mirror finish i found good was auto glym ultra deep shine
use wonder wheels for bbs usually works a treat with a small brush
which gives me a chance to clear water traps out.
