Ahh man, its great to see there are plenty of people out there still cherishing these lovely little motors. Ive since sold mine and Ive been getting a little misty eyed reading this and remembering all the good times i had with TAZ
. I'm currently living in Goa on the first leg of a round the world tour so i don't have a car at the min. But first thing ill do when i get back is get another Beema.
Take care folks and happy motoring

Thanks Sarah,
We had a brilliant day with the guys from TBMW. They took hundereds of photos but only used those few. It's a shame that they didn't feature the two car's on their separately. There's a feature in our newsletter, together with some video footage - can't remember if you've already seen it?
I've eventually decided to change the wheels - I've got a set of Mims and another set of black-spoked BBS to replace the reps. Can't decide which, probably the Mims. The ride's just too hard with the current set-up.
Loads of work planned - the garage won't do the 2.7 until just before Xmas and as I don't have the time or a garage to work in I'll just have to wait. It's been ages. Next year it's back to the bodywork - sombody backed into it and bent the back bumper slightly so I've got a new one to go on and there's the rear arch to do. Never ends.
Cheers,
Mick

she got stolen both doors got bent so had to replace them so there needing painted they damaged the front bumper and drivers wing when they took it through a fence into a field the fa**y that tried lifting it out the field wreked the sills while trying to lift it (ended out getting it out the field my self !!!) plus the interiour is shabby but just bought front leathers recarro style for her. going to start getting the interiour out it next week get the welding done ( both sills jacking point drivers side rear lower qourters and rear arch ) replace all the fuel pipes and brake pipes then ill be happy. playing with the idea of the tec 1 kit but need a tec 1 spoiler so will be looking to swap a tec 2 spoiler for a tec 1

Wicked - Baurs are starting to gain a well earned, recognized foot hold in the E30 range - it's only taken 20+ years but i think ppl are coming round to them now. I suppose it was all because it was classed as a Hybreed in it's day??
How many's that on the Zone now? 5/6 maybe.
Neil.

being honest i always preffered the baur to bmws own convertible hard to say why but just somthin about it..
since i was a kid i always wanted a baur hadnt seen one in years then i found mine lying in a garage where it had been lying for 5 year or so since the last owner died. came to a deal with the old owners sister and after me being £100 lighter the keys and v5 were in my hand. dragged it out the garage with my old 316i, got the engine turning by hand put some oil down the bores put the jump leads on it and it fired up after a couple of turns!!!!
was chuffed to bits.. had to replace the shocks and springs all round and now its just everything i said above but after lying in a garage for 5 years and some dirty ba..ard stealing her shes not that bad if you ask me. when i first got her i trailored her home but when i found it after she got stolen (was away almost 7 month was starting to losse hope!!) i drove her the 20 mile or so home and being honest loved every second of it

Crazy love ain't it? - when i bought Sarah her Baur - it had also been sitting in a garage for years but had had the best part of restore done + was chuffed to find out that it used to be a BMW demonstrator car for 3 years in the beginning of it's life. Since then we've just added bits to it like the suspension, wheels, kit, leather, exhaust.
Got another Tourer for braking very soon so, the 2.5 will go into the Baur as well as all the running gear, new roof + a full respray next year by our resident Zone body work guy, Dips.
Just got to quiz Ant about coming to mine to sort out the wiring loom from the old fuel management to the newer one.
Same as you though, i always wanted one from youth + when i first saw Micks a few years back, it triggered that want off again - though i never ended up buying it for me + now i'm very lucky if i get to pry the keys from Sarah's hand lol.
Best advantage of the Baur = you can insure them "legally" as a saloon because, that's what they came of the original production line as and their chassis number backs it up. Went through a 20 min phone convo with my insurance about it and came to this conclusion
It's good to hear your restoring yours - too many of them have disappeared over the year to the hands of the wreckers - don't forget pics in progress when you do start.

I'd be very interested if it were nearer!!!!!!!! why can't that be just down the road from me?
Even got a brand new roof (all 3 parts) in Blue ready to be used - might just sell it on though as i dout i'll find one to use it on.
Unless you know of some one with room on a transporter that comes down to Hertfordshire in the future - massive long shot?

just done a route finder 400 mile!!! kinda sore id be lookin at a 800 mile round trip

The one i've got is Dark Blue, it was on the car for 2 months before it got broken apart due to the ussual aspects of rusty E30's - it's never even been in the rain!!! - if your interested in it then all i want is my money back on it which is £300.
Ref where i live; basically the top bit of the M25 / J25 - it would be a FULL days plod for you if you came down but worth saving another Baur i suppose if the shell is good on it?
