Chrome windscreen surround
Moderator: martauto
Does anyone know if theres an easy way to fit the chrome strip which runs around my windscreen? Looking back, i think it may have been easier to slide the new one in whilst pulling the old one out, but its a bit too late for that
it might be a job for loads of fairy liquid and a bit of persistance! Cheers, Guy.

That tool is leathal autoglass ripped through the rubber surround onmy screen using that.
My dad used to do windscreens for a living he used Fairy liquid to put it in last time he done one.

just had a thought, if you are planning on using a blunt object to spread the rubber, (like i did) i found it easyier if you put the strip in place on the body work side, and force the rubber on the windscreen side, because that way if it slips out you dont end up taking a chunk of your paint with it.... its pretty unlikely you'll scratch the screen... and use loads of fairy too
(hope that makes sense!!) Good luck!
