Hi there,

I've been reading this forum for a while now and I think it's time to introduce myself 8) .

I'm Tom from holland and am very much into e30's.

I've been driving an e30 325e for two years which I loved :

Image

After some years of circuit experience I decided to convert my road car to a trackcar with my dad and a friend. The idea was to make a nice trackday car. After finding a lot of rust on the car on critical parts we started wondering if it would be smart to go on with this body. At the same time we saw a nice body for sale on a local racing site. It was a four door type 2 e30 from '94 (yes 8) ) :

The best start you can get so hopes were up again and we started building wat we still are doing at the moment. Here some picture's the last couple of weeks/months :

The car is growing ;) :

The engine will be a M50B25, almost standard to begin with :

And for the e30 enthousiast, here some random pictures :

Today I had to say goodbye to my first e30. He did well

( We have a site : Rotoba-Racing.nl but it's in dutch. Includes many pictures though. )

Anyway, that's my e30 story so far. Sorry for my bad english by the way, I'm doing my best :o . See you on the forum :)

What an awesome project, it looks good so far, how long have you been at it?

New shiney parts everywhere :D

Your english is very good, perhaps better than mine :o and certainly better than a lot of the txt speak we see on here

We've been busy since a few months now, the problem is time unfortunately. Only a couple of hours a week, sometimes none. :(

And now I've got another distraction. An e30 316 carburator 8) , bought it for a very small price and since my car is converted to a small block of metal at the scrapyard I have to drive something. But it isn't exactly driving at the moment so will have to take a look at it ;) :

Absolutely, not a mile 8) . Maybe in some way it's wrong to use it for racing but then again, it was for sale a few weeks and I was the only one having contacted the seller.

We're doing our best :) But we don't have real detailed notes so far except in our heads and on the pictures. But if I can help with something, let me know :).

Well the next step is the rear axle. At the moment, the subframe is at the coater and will be back by Saterday.
These subframebushes will be used :

along with these trailingarm bushes :

These will be used as rear shock reinforced tops :

And with these stabilizermounts :

Many updates to come :)

Last week we got the subframe back from the coater and put the new bushes in. Here are two nice pictures of it :

Image
Image

These bushes are a bit shorter than the original. With this you reduce the camber a bit when lowering the car.
Ofcourse we started building as soon as possible. Since we are putting the brakelines incar we didn't have think about them yet.

Image
Image

Here's a picture of the trailingarms with the urethane bushings in. Also you can see the reinforced plates for the rear droplinks :

Image

A picture of the rideheight setup although it will be set up when we are going to weigh the car.

Image

Rear strut with tower reinforcement :

Image

Same but from above. Here you also see the towerreinforcement with the urethane bushes.

Image

The rear under the car.

Image

Can't wait to continue with the axles, dif, brakes and everything following. :)

Yesterday evening and night ( ) we had some time to work on the car

We put in the CV joints and dif. It's a LCD with a ratio of 3.25, with the cover of a M coupe.

Image
Image

After that we put on the brakes. Ventilated discs and stock calipers. The hoses will be put through the car with a tilton in the middle.

A complete picture :

Hope to continue soon. :)
