car - 150mph in a meastro. yep a maestro. it was a modded turbo with a calibrated speedo running 14psi if i remember. de-stickered and de-kitted too - best sleeper i've ever seen or can think of. mental car. shame the owner parked it half-way up a tree a few months later.

bike - a friend let me take out his race prepped gsxr600 only last week. no speedo but well over 120bhp at the rear wheel and no plates obviously - so i didn't worry about cameras too much. don't know what speed i managed but i redlined it in top on the a3 in the middle of the afternoon. methinks i would have had the book thrown at me if caught....

160 in the rain last year in a 911...

Indicated 165 on the R1 (most scary thing i've ever experienced!

TBH i enjoy hanging the tail out at 40 much more than just going fast in a straight line.

147mph in an Audi Coupe 2.2 coming back from Dublin up the N1... then we passed a policeman standing on the hard shoulder.. I don't think he actually realised what had happened. We didn't get a ticket for it, gotta luv the Garda with NI regged cars, they just can't be bothered with the paperwork :D

Fastest ive ever been in my own car is 150 (as shown on the clocks, not GPS) but it was flying like she wasnt far off it in real money! I must get GPS System in my sport 1 day!
Done 151mph in my dads old Vauxhall Senator 24valver. WHAT A CAR! It felt like you were barely doing 90!!!

Davetouring, the CRX IS a wicked car mate!

Giles, your dads got a Red Label? WOW! I gotta buy my dad a Turbo R if i win some money on the lotto 1 day or i get a wickedly paid job. Class!

Jesus, I remember that day well!!! You crawled up to midlands rolling road day coz u were on the economy run, then i shot u some cash for the fuel tank so we could go back together and have a spot of fun! M5 we were well behaved and p1ssed about with photos and making faces and had a gunning down the M4. I think i was doing somewhere close to that, coz i was coming down on you fairly quick..... mind you... we were both gunning down on the rest of the traffic. Its magical how the road was so clear for us there isnt it! What a hoon! AND WHY AINT U EMAILED ME YET U CNUT! lol

GwynleyM10, try 75mph on a racing bike down Caerphilly mountain. Tyres are less than an ich wide and running 125psi wearing only a lycra skinsuit..... and no helmet either... thats mad!

Long post, but i had to read up on 3 pages.

Yamaha ThunderAce..not race!...the bike before the R1 was launched, used the previous bikes FZR100EXUP motor which dates back to 1988, with some tweaks for the mid nineties, 1000cc, 20valve four.

No way fit for 203MPH without a turbo, indicated or genuine...the speedo doesnt even read that high..If it was genuine, would love to see a timing sheet

Import matters not a jot, in fact, lots of imported bikes from europe and the US are restricted, usaully to the 100BHP mark, switzerland 77BHP!

All UK model bikes are "full power" from the factory , learner bikes excepted

Agreed flat out speed can sometimes be not much of an event, but past 170MPH, even the straightest looking roads have bends in them....

M1 south heading to watford is a pukka left hand sweeper at an approach speed around(an indicated) 190.

Glad to see another 'busa owner on the board...

Driving? A touch over 150 in a Focus RS.

As a passenger, about 1000 mph at Lakeside with DaveTouring. Felt like 1000 anyway.
318iS became MR2 Turbo became FTO GPX Mivec became Impreza became Rover 620Ti became Honda S2000 (current) became Fiesta 1.25 and 200SX Drift Slag (when the Honda has gone)

When i had my std 1.4 nova i did 100mph on this B road from my house to work.

Fastest in my 318i is only 105, cause i dont want to get caught.

The fastest i have been was in my step dads Ferrari 355, and we did 150 :D

Got 120mph (indicated) out of my touring last night-WELL PLEASED :thumb:

Fastest i've been though is 150mph (indicated) in my old xj40 jag-just stuck the cruise control on,and it sat there no probs (apart from the 7mpg issue  )

I once did glasgow to carlisle in the jag (100 miles) in just over 50 mins (you do the math winkeye :burn: )

weirdest fast thing i ever drove wa an old (g plate) Bentley Continental Turbo

It had a 6.2 v8 with a turbo the size of Devon on it, and a 3 speed column shift auto 8O

just smoked its tyres all over the place-Nice

Had my sport up to 140 on the way back from Ferrybridge, but it was revving hard so I only held it there for a second.

Maddest one was doing 140 on the A50 between Holmes Chapel and Arclid in a E55 AMG, car was still pulling hard but the approaching traffic lights stopped play.

Also hit the speed limiter (143) in my old Saab 900 Turbo, 3 up on the M55 near Blackpool, the conversation went something like "have you ever noticed how you never see any police on this road...... hmmm........ VROOOOOM!"

Can't help but imagine the reactions of the people you pass when you're knocking on,....."what the fff......!!!"
